I live here on hole 4 and it is all overgrown. Word is it sold and work should begin soon. The place was one of the best around until it went under. Great layout and change of elevation but looks BAD right now.
Course is not well taken care of. The clubhouse is ok but it was the worst course I have ever been on. Hopefully someone buys it and fixes it up.m
In my opinion Plantation Palms is the best public golf course in the LOL/Lutz/Wesley Chapel area and perhaps including New Tampa too. Here are some tips1) Location - about a mile north on Collier Parkway off of Hwy 54. That intersection is about 10 minutes west of the I75/275 apex OR 5 minutes east of the Dale Mabry/41 apex. In other words its really easy to get to. If you come north on Collier it's the next right past the LOL Rec Fields2) Amenities - nice clubhouse with bar, food, and large veranda overlooking the 18th green. 3) Pro Shop - a bit on the small side but adequate4) Practice area - decent driving range and practice green and also has a chipping green as well with multiple angles to shoot from5) COURSE - this is a challenging but fun course to play. Here are some tips for the course itself...>>Note that WATER comes into play on 17 of the 18 holes. Bring plenty of balls if that scares you :)>> The course is in a community but most of the homes are out of range and far enough back that they don't seem obtrusive. (Oh you can hit them to be sure but it's not crammed like some neighborhood courses). Also this is an upscale community for the most part and the homes are well kept. >> Upkeep. the course changed owners a couple years ago and is in nice shape again.>>I have friends that travel out of there way to play this course because it is so well designed and fun6) Rates - $25-55 depending on the time of day/season. That's pretty reasonable for the level of course in my bookI plan to play here again and again. See you there
We only visit once a year, on our annual guys golf outing, but this always one of our favorites. A great course that is always well maintained. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the restaurant gets high marks for quality of food and service.
Course is in disgusting shape for what they charge you nowadays. It's a real shame because this used to be one of my favorites to play!
Very nice and well kept course. My husband hosts a golf tournament here every year. The employees are all very nice and food in restaurant is very good.
Makes the big driver important part of your bag..... lots of water to dare you to go for it... nice layout with beautiful greens.
Greens were sandy and a mess. Fairways were overgrown in areas. Course looked in poor condition and NOT what I have come to expect from this place at ALL.
Guys golf trip in March included Plantation Palms, which was a very solid and respectable course...not as good as Westchase, but our second favorite of the four. Greens were in very good shape, fairways were not quite as nice but decent. Would definitely play there again.
Played a round of golf here last summer when our course was having some work done and was very happy with the layout (challenging, but very fair landing areas for tee shots, etc.) and it was in great shape. Would go back here anytime - you should play this course if in the area.
The new owners have really added a great deal, from Soft Golf on weekend nights to the restaurant hosting many more evening events. We thoroughly enjoy the meals and friendly folks that go out of their way to accommodating the needs of everyone. We return often and will continue to return. Great place!
One of the better courses in the area. In good shape, greens were a little shaggy but otherwise good. Not too long of a course, some challenging holes but nothing out of reach for the average golfer. Brand new carts, with coolers. Good deals online.
