I just went to the Richey Suncoast Theater for the first time tonight. What a find! The theatre is a gem. It's an old fashioned little broadway like theatre. It's so charming and very well kept. I saw Whose Wifes Are They Anyway? I laughed from start to finish. I had such a good time. The prices of tickets are very reasonable, concessions are very inexpensive, and the actors are all volunteers. I wish more people knew about this theare, for it is such a great time. I highly recommend it! I will definitely be going again!

Attended a Veterans' Day Performance by the 42nd St Big Band group and a singer named Lotar. Delightful, most enjoyable, fun program with a special salute to all Veterans . Really appreciate the Patriotism as all performances begin with The Star Spangled Banner followed by the theme songs for all branches of the military with the request that each veteran who served in that particular branch of the military stand when his/her service song is played. This is routinely done at all performances of all shows in Branson, MO so, it pleased me no end to see it done here in NPR, FL.

We were vacationing in Port Richey and decided to have an evening at the theater. The production was Spamalot,it was a very funny and very entertaining!The theater is quite lovely and the actors did a very good job!! We can't wait until next year,we are definitely going back!

Nicely refurbished old-time theater of the 1930's that used to be 'THE PLACE' to go to be seen in its heyday when many Broadway & Hollywood stars used to come to this area of FL on holiday. Have seen local performers in plays & concerts here. Most enjoyable entertainment!

This theater has been around forever and has undergone a wonderful renovation. The owners are super friendly, the atmosphere is really nice and we've been to many plays there. I've always enjoyed this place!

Quaint theater! Every seat is great! There are also several restaurants within walking distance, so it's a nice dinner & play night out with friends.

My husband and I went to the 2:00 "Doo Wop Series" concert this afternoon. We walked out after ten minutes. We certainly weren't expecting The Four Freshmen or anything, but for $12.00 a ticket we were expecting more than poorly recorded, canned music and singers who didn't seems to know the music. They couldn't run their sound system (such as it was...basically a CD player) and had to start songs over. It was ridiculous. There might be better talent there, but I'm not willing to give it another chance.

After a while attending plays became a sponsor for the last couple of years. They also have other activities and concerts.

this is a great little theater. the shows and plays are always the best in the area.they are always well produced and the actors are sometimes neighborhood people. tickets usually sell out that's how good this place is. they also have food that can be bought. a very nice night out.

The Richey Suncoast Theatre is a community theater that highlights local talent. The musicals usually feature a live orchestra. Mind you, this is not a broadway gig, but a nice night out at a very reasonable cost.They also are expanding the venue by bringing in outside bands, and musical performers. The nostalgia alone of seeing this historical theater is worth the ticket price.

We enjoy theater and like to support local actors. The Richey Suncoast Theater often does a good job at providing interesting plays, both drama & musicals. They are inconsistent however, in that some are delightful and some I've noted people waking out at intermission. I suppose it depends on the talent available at the time. I do like the fact that they have redone the theater and removed the noise that used to be disruptive from the old air conditioning system. The restoration was quite lovely and seats very comfortable. Since there really isn't a bad seat in the house to view the stage, this is a popular venue with many New Port Richey show goers. If you know going in that this is an amateur company of actors, you will not be disappointed by the outcome. We have had many fun evenings here.

I am a new resident of NPR, Fl. This little theater is a hidden gem with a really nice variety of bands, musicals and shows. The prices are excellent and for the retired person a good price point. The theater has been renovated and is beautiful inside as well as out. People that live in the area are great supporters of this venue and it is well worth it.Try it once, you won't be disappointed.Paula Kysilka

I love,love,love this theater. it is our neighborhood theater with great plays and other events. it is a very grande theater. We will always go there for shows.

By far the best deal around New Port Richey area. Their shows run from September to May. Ticket prices are only $18.00. They have 6 shows each season. You can get a package of 6 show tickets for only $70.00( this includes the Christmas show) This is a quaint beautiful old theatre where the famous stars of yester year Hollywood used to appear.It you take the boat tour along the river here you will see the homes owned by all the famous stars -Shirley Temple-Gloria Swanson-Babe Ruth-Marilyn Munroe and many others.This theatre was brought back to life by Charlie Skelton who really made this a great centerpiece of New Port Richey. Sadly Charlie passed away last year during a vacation in Las Vegas. His wife took over his job and she has done one heck of a job.The first show this season is a Musical Starting on Sept. 1st till Sept.29- the next show (a comedy called The Amorous Ambassador)starts Oct.1st till Nov3rd- The third show is the CHRISTMAS SHOW Nov. 29th to Dec. 8th. -Then another comedy (There's a burglar in my bed.Starting Jan 16th till Feb, 2nd- Next is the Musical CAMELOT, starting March 6th till March 23rd. The last show of the season which is scheduled for May 8th has not been announced yet.(It's a Musical) Believe me the $70.00 ticket package for all shows is a great deal. Very nice theatre and some unbelievable talent. The price is a drawing factor as it is far less than any other theatre in the area. It has been remodeled recently.
