What time did you arrive at the shop on Wednesday and Thursday?

I am so glad I chose Gill Dawgs for my kayak rental! They were so friendly and helpful giving us directions to an island and a map so we wouldn't get lost! The price was perfect at $25 and we saw a lot of wildlife on our adventure including a sea turtle ! Taylor went above and beyond for us! I give them a ten for service ! If your in the area check it out you won't be disappointed!

I've watched this place grow from an empty parking lot to a bustling business of food drinks waters sports boating FUN! Love the atmosphere and their involvement with community. Great kayaking adventures, rentals, good food, live music, so much going on! Parking can be a challenge when it gets super busy. Check out their calendar for events and concerts !

The atmosphere is grand! It speaks of old Florida. It is along the tributary of the Cottee River. Not a huge waterfront but an interesting one with mangroves and jumping mullet. The wait staff is welcoming. The menu is rather small however the food was fresh tasting and good. The beer menu is very generous in choices. I understand they have live music after hours but we only went for lunch. The place is still growing , we will go back again.

My trip down the Cotee river was great. There was a mistake in my original reservation but Steve made it right and I had a very enjoyable trip (manatees!). The staff I encountered were friendly and professional and I plan to paddle with them again on my next visit. Get some vegan items on the restaurant menu and I'll try that, too.

For months we loved this place went at least once a week and they had the best fish tacos in town. Didn't have the greatest service but these kind of places never do. I always looked forward to going there until one day I noticed they jacked up their prices. At that point I was still ok with it because I love their fish tacos so much, until I received my tacos and they had the smallest portions of fish I have ever seen. I went one more time to give them the benefit of the doubt but that will be the last time I go there.

Had a blast this morning with Steve as the lead! He took a group of ladies out kayaking to Werner Boyce Park and back to the spring head. We had beautiful weather & saw all sorts of wildlife, including a pod of dolphins that swam around our group. Food at Gil Dawgs afterward was a great way to wrap up the fun. Looking forward to our next adventure!

I am very dissapointed. This has been our favorite place for several months. Have been going at least twice a week but went last night and found they discontinued buckets of coronas, our food portions were cut back and were told the menue is being changed. Our service was horrible...waitress was practically none existent. Sorry guys but we won't be back.

Very chilled out here. The menu is very simple,however everything that we have had here is very yummy and so good. The shrimp is to die for. The nachos are huge,and the wings were very good. Al the meals we have ate are very tasty too. The drinks are reasonable priced,and staff are friendly. A cool place to eat dinner,or have a few drinks on a nice day. Only down side is were not dog lovers, so sometimes seeing that there is a dog sitting there on a lease can be off putting.

Mr. Smith,We really appreciate your feedback regarding your experience here at Gill Dawg Marina.We are very sorry you felt the pontoon rental we provided you with was underpowered. The pontoon boat speed and torque varies depending on size load. We didn’t design them for long distance and also keep them slightly underpowered for safety precautions. We do have inexperienced boaters renting our pontoons and equipping them with too much power could pose a major hazard for us. Thank you for bringing the depth finder problem to our attention. You were the first complaint we had; so we had our technicians recalibrate the device and it is now working fine.We opened the Tiki Bar portion of our Marina in October. The first 9 months in business we have experienced many challenges and are constantly learning and teaching on how to improve our business. Bringing fans to the outdoor Tiki Bar is of high ranking on our agenda of improvements to be made. I can assure you this amenity will be coming very soon.Keeping our customers happy and earning an opportunity at their repeat business is a goal we strive to attain daily. Love this place! Food is awesome and very well priced! Plus the beer is always cold and they have the best waiter named Josh. We have had him more than once and he is always pleasant and helpful. As a family we would highly recommend this place to everyone.

Laid back, casual atmosphere along with live music! Come for a drink or a meal or to rent a kayak. Something for everyone!

Met with Steve and Taylor to take a pontoon boat for an afternoon, both guys could not have been more helpful and informative. So if you want to rent a pontoon boat (especially for the first time), then I strongly recommend Gill Dawg. After you bring the boat back I recommend lingering at the delightful little marina restaurant, craft beers and what looks like really nice food (though we didn't eat), my only suggestion is that the restaurant get some ice cream in!

iced tea was like watertold it was happy hour but i was charged $3 for a pint on bud lite draft beer was warm from the waiter mike taking to long to bring it bloody mary was good 5 pieces of shriveled up beef on skewer fries were goodchicken on the skewer was raw told waiter mike and it rolled like water off a ducks back left him a $.44 that he did not deserve 6/8/2014 @ 5pm will not returnBack to Whiskey River for me
