Stopped for an after dinner night cap. Wine selection is huge and servers advice was outstanding. perfect end to a perfect weekend.
Wow, as you grow 'long in the tooth' the saying..."Nothing Lasts Forever", certainly can become harsh reality. Like a budding romance, it can wane. Bolero's has vanished, in the cigar smoke it created, one quiet night in December. We had stopped several times in November but, they forgot (?) to put out the sofa's, chairs & gas heaters outside so, not wanting to breathe tobacco waste, we shifted into 2nd and drove on by. Last night, after a great dinner at Casa Mia Ristorante we stopped for a glass of wine and found it empty, void of life, purged of everything but, the paint on the walls. Sad, as Tavares could use a classy after-dinner venue on the waterfront. Not unLike Keanu Reeves utters at the end of 'Point Break'...."Vaya Con Dios", (Bolero's)!
If you're looking for a relaxing evening, in a laid back atmosphere, surrounded by friends, cigars, good music and a tall glass of wine this place just might 'blow up your skirt". Bolero's opened several months ago but, it took me awhile to get it posted on this great website. We discovered this place after a great dinner at Tasso's just down the block. It was opened by a lady entrepreneur who had also started a magazine focused on the local scene. I think she saw The Need, and voila'..... here stands the results. Bolero's located strategically across the street from the Lake & Seaplane Aeroport in Downtown, Tavares. The lakeside breezes are balmy and the wine flowed like water on both our visits. Neither my wife or I smoke but, there is something to be said about a cool cigar and a glass of fine wine. We had a blast! The owner, 'Heather', is extremely cordial and, our server "Kristin" made our visit memorable. What was really cool was the fire pits outside (gas fueled), surrounded by comfortable sofa's & chairs. Since we really don't like 'smoke' this was a great way to stay out of the fog-filled bar but, still be a part of the action. Can you believe it??? "A Big City" cigar bar has finally come to sleepy Tavares and Mount Dora! Best of Luck ~
