Decent place. Crowd support is pathetic. I got greats seats $55 each for 10 rows from the field.. The field. Ballpark food was a little pricey by Florida standard but good.

Enclosed stadium protecting all from heat, humidity & those severe thunderstorms we get here on summer afternoons & evenings. Parking is convenient or you can park & ride. Vendors are varied & plentiful.. Stadium is always clean & in good repair. I only go to games as a companion for my sweetheart as I find baseball excruciatingly boring so having a pleasant place makes it bearable. As with all sporting venues, very expensive.

Great place for those menus that don't want to be "Rain down". Very good facilities and recently modernized. The AC feels great in the hot and humid Florida.

I spend a few weeks in Madeira Beach each year, and I always make time for a baseball game at Tropicana Field. The dome is air conditioned (amazing!) and very clean. The people are positive, friendly, and enthusiastic about baseball. The tickets are affordable and parking availability is decent.

After the heat of Rangers Ballpark in Texas , the air-conditioned Trop was , literally , a breath of fresh , cold air. We watched 3 games against the Yankees and the ballpark was therefore crowded [ which isn`t always the case ].. We almost died queueing in the heat out the front but recovered once we got inside. Views were good from the outfield but we splurged on Diamond Club seats behind home plate for one game. Diamond club was brilliant with waiter service and all you can eat and drink. The food was great and very varied - from roast to ice creams. Player interaction was also great from this vantage. The food was a little on the expensive side elsewhere but reasonable. Visiting the devil rays in the outdoor pool was unreal. The only downside was trying to get a seat on the post-game buses. In one word--chaotic. It was probably the rude new York fans though. I don`t know why more fans don`t follow the Rays. I know the stadium has its shortcomings but its air-conditioned !!!! In a Florida summer that`s gold. Unfortunately the surrounding suburbs aren`t that interesting and you may have to travel further afield for other entertainment.

I'm not sure why people pick on the Trop because it 's great! You're inside without the heat, sweat or sunburn. I think people forget this is Florida and it gets hot here. The Trop is one place you don't have to bring the suntan lotion with you or worry whether you or your kids will burn. It can rain, thunder and lightning and it makes no difference because you're inside, safe, sound and dry. Go to the Trop and have a blast!

I've been to the Trop twice, first in 2000 and again in September of 2014. Both times, the Stadium struck me as an average venue for baseball. I'm not the person to tell you that baseball HAS to be played outdoors ... if you've ever invested a day to take a child to a game and have it rained out, it changes your priorities a bit, so I appreciate the fact that if you commit to go to a Rays game, a game will be played. The stadium just has a generic feel to it compared to other's I've been in. I do love the tank with the live rays in it ... they just need more things like that to make it a memorable destination.

I find the field very warm and cozy. Seats are good at all price levels. We like the outfield for the price and chance to catch a home run ball. Very good food available and ample parking. Do not like the premium prices for certain games,ie., Yankees, Redsocks..but this is a trend at other ballparks.

Summer in Florida is HOT and steamy, and watching baseball in the relentless sun is not a good idea here. The Trop is always 72 degrees, the beer is ice cold, and the Rays are amazing. I am in heaven since they added a vegan alternative to hamburgers. If you love Major League Baseball, this is the perfect middle of summer activity in Tampa Bay!

This place needs to be mowed down. Granted, Florida is sweltering and it could be worse, you could be watching baseball outside in the middle of the day. But the facility is terrible. The concourses are too terrible making getting to concessions or the bathrooms difficult, and the catwalks that span the roof that can interfere with homeruns. And back to the dome thing, watching baseball is just meh.

Having seen both baseball and hockey (a long time ago) at The Trop, I understand the thoughts shared about the dome and the iffy summer weather in Florida, but the game should be played on real grass (yes, there are only 2 stadiums left that play on turf) and should have a roof where you can see the ball and a roof structure where it is not like the inside of a pinball machine.I don't know why the Trop doesn't get more attendance as the team has been a contender for the past how many years now, but attendance is still low. I don't have the answer - dome or no dome, retractable roof, located in Tampa or east of Tampa for better attendance - but the fans and the team deserve something different.Yes, its not a bad place to watch a game, but the plan for a new stadium along the waterfront in St. Pete would have been more consistent with many of the newer downtown ball parks.

Most baseball purests want to watch the game in an outdoor stadium, with natural grass. But in Florida watching baseball during the summer months, should only be done in an indoor stadium. Tropical Field does not have a bad viewing seat and great food selections. They also allow the fans to enter the building with unopened water bottles, bagged popcorn, bagged peanuts and sandwiches. You cannot beat that, because the beers are not cheap.

It may not have all the bells & whistles of newer parks, but it's a great value to go catch a game in the middle of a Florida summer. It's a cool 72 degrees and you won't worry about a rain delay. Bring 4 or more in your car and parking is free at the stadium. They also allow you to bring in your own food so if going with a large family you can make it fit many budgets. The talent on the field the last several years has been exciting to watch as well.

OK... The Tampa Bay Rays baseball stadium has been taking quite a few hits (pardon the pun) as one of the worst baseball stadiums in the major leagues. I get it... it's not new and it's not that pretty... but, it's always 72 degrees inside regardless of the temperature outside. And, here in Tampa Bay... it's hot (90+) and muggy (65% humidity) during most of June, July, August, and September... when they play baseball. Now, having said all of that... it's a pretty darn good place to watch a game. The food is good and the beer is cold, though over-priced as it is in all Major League venues. On the plus side... you can bring your own food in with you. There is parking nearby for less than $20 bucks... add in a really cool tank for the "rays"... and it's a great way to spend an evening.
