Place is called Shark Bites now. We were told by some people at hotel it's under new ownership and they have reasonable prices and good food. They had a lobster and jumbo shrimp dinner for $20.00 that we jumped on. Came with 2 good size lobster tails and 6 or 8 jumbo peel and eat shrimp. Although meaty, lobster did'nt have any taste and was rather tough. Butter was vegetable oil with no butter taste at all. Shrimp on the other hand was big and very good.Manager came asked how everything was and mentioned the lobster was tasteless and tough and he said "It's our number one seller" and walked away. Granted, if your selling 2 nice lobster tails and 6-8 jumbo shrimp for $20, it's going to be a #1 seller. It would've been even better if it had taste. If we had time, I would have liked to give it another try. Service was great and it sits right on the water with a nice atmosphere.
My family had dinner here while vacationing and visiting relatives, and it was PERFECT. My family is more on the loud, fun, laughing side of things, so this place was well-suited for us. The drinks were cheap, the food was hearty and tasty, and we loved the atmosphere. We had a wonderful time and great service! Our waitress was actually from our home state of Indiana! She took great care of us. If we are ever back in St. Pete we will return.
Loved the beach vibe and dining on the water. My friends enjoyed several plates of the "all you can eat crab legs"
The service was less than to be expected from a restaurant that has been around for a while. They didn't have several things we were interested in on the menu. Never a good sign. But the icing was to watch the hostess drop a dirty rag on the floor. That's where it should have stayed. No, while she tried to pick it up, she stepped on it then proceeded to wash a couple of tables with it.Obviously their staff gets no training. Only can imagine what the kitchen staff does if the first person you deal with is like that.
We ate here twice during a week stay in St Petes Beach. Once for all you can eat crab. Service was fantastic, as we never had to wait for our next round of crab. The food was great too!! Can't wait to go back again next time.
We needed a drink and appetizers and this place fit the bill. Shared. Grouper fingers with mango chutney... Very good. Also hs ahi tuna salad which was light and delicious, the grouper egg rolls were good, different , but good. Only complaint, dirty , college type restrooms. This is the reason for two vs three rating. About 20 min walk frome Tradewinds resort.
