As you drive in you see big beautiful homes and think this should be a great course. Sorry you are mistaken. If you like grass on the fairways don't play here and its drainage must be really bad as it is always wet. Greens suck and would not tell any friend to play here. Just a all around bad layout and don't forget your hard hat. Ignore and play the Eagles

This was my first time playing this course, but it won't be the last. After 10 years of playing wintertime golf in the St. Petersburg area, this was a welcome change from the usual flat, wide-open courses. Tree-lined fairways with sufficient grass; elevation changes; many bunkers, but only a few placed in truly penalizing positions; lots of water. I am a 90s golfer and I didn't think the fairways were exceptionally narrow (note: we were playing from the front tees, so that might make a difference in one's perception of "tight"). The greens were in good condition, undulating and FAST! We started on the back nine and were rained out after 15 holes, so I can't speak to holes 7-8-9. The staff was friendly, the carts were in good shape, the clubhouse/bar was comfortable. In February we paid a special on-line price of $31+ tx. I look forward to my next round.

The front nine of the course is tight, but very playable. The back is more open, with several water hazards. The course is nice, the staff is friendly and the burgers are really good. Overall, a very good golfing experience.

I play Wentworth usually once a month and always enjoy it. Contrary to what some of these other reviewers say, it is not wide open. The fairways are tight and greens are undulating but its always in great shape. The front nine is mostly tree lined with minimal water but tight. The back nine has lots of water and three par 3's but a bit tougher IMO. The pub is outstanding and they have a great Mother's day brunch which is very reasonable if you get the chance. I'll be teeing it up tomorrow! Now if I could just shoot my handicap!

The course is challenging the first time you play it. Many of the holes are tight and there are a variety of ways to get in trouble off the tee. Course knowledge would definitely help after a few rounds. The clubhouse is a little old inside. Some of the fairways are pretty close to each other so one can easily hit into the next fairway and vice versa, which is not good. The course conditions were not the best but I'd play here again. It's a tough track.

Had a luncheon here whilst husband golfed. The clubhouse is rather '70's and the catering included corn-on-the-cob (that most women abstained from eating; too messy)? My husband has enjoyed a couple of the cheaper golf options in the area as much or more. Since this is a regular venue for local groups, i'm certain i'll be coming again, but would love to find that my first impression wasn't a lasting one.

This is a nice course good condition. Played twice and both times about 3.5 hours to play nine very aggravating. Talked to them marshal and he said he would check into the hold up disappears and we never see him again. Went to the pro shop to voice our concerns and the pro shop is closed. Crappy service Get new management. Called them also to complain and got blown off. Said he'd call me right back. Sorry never got a call. Too much competition in the tampa area to be treated this way. NEVER GO NEAR THIS PLACE A DISASTER.

Wentworth is a really fun challenge. This is not a tee it high and let it fly type of place. Rather, you need to place your shots carefully, off the tee and onto those undulating greens. From either the whites or the blues the course plays a bit shorter than most but the narrow fairways and fast breaking greens make up for it. Course has some really interesting holes and large interesting to look at houses flank a few holes. Overall, it's a great test, very walkable, in great shape. Tired of that guy in the foursome who hits the ball 300+ yards off the tee beating you all the time? Come to Wentworth and you'll humble him, fair and square!

I've been a Member at Wentworth for years. The golf course is a real test of golf, even though the scorecard might show it as short course. If you're over an 18 handicap golfer, you're going to struggle as it has tight fairways, small greens, and water on plenty of the holes. If you're under an 18 handicap golfer, you're going to find it a very strong challenge to your golf game. Don't even think about the back (Black) tees regardless of the deceptively short length. The yellow tees are ALL a single digit handicapper needs, and the blue tees are a more enjoyable round for those new to the course. Regardless, everyone should bring a few extra balls as you will lose more on this course than you normally do anywhere else. The only problem is that you mix public and private play. You might want to speak with the pro shop and determine when your "member" play is and put yourself closer to those tee times. As a course open to the public, you can run into the uninitiated who don't understand all the etiquette regarding pace of play, raking of traps, allowing faster golfers to play through, etc.On the whole, Wentworth is a terrific golf experience. After one round, you'll determine whether your golf game deserves another shot at it or not.Mulligan's after the round is typical pub food with plenty of TV's if you want to watch a sporting event. Service has been inconsistent. If you're in a rush, you might be gambling. If not, it's a fine time at Mulligan's.

I place a tee time for one through Golf Now. A reduced rate, I paid $36.00 for greens fees and cart. The course is challenging and in very good condition for winter play. Pro shop staff were welcoming and helpful. Especially nice for a solo woman golfer.

The course was very difficult, very tight and we were a fourball amongst many twoballs. There was no starters to put twos together and by the time we had let 3 twoballs through, it took us 5 hours to play. We are average golfers with handicaps of 14 - 18.

Played in July and course was in good shape. Pretty wet due to all of the rain, but nothing too bad. Greens were hard and fast.

We played the Tarpon Springs Golf Course on a week-day in July. We managed to avoid the rain and the course was not too wet....at least it was playable.I really like this course and it is not too difficult. There are very fair forward red tees for women. During the summer months the green fees are very reasonable and the course is not crowded. There is a really good snack bar but they do not take credit cards.....very friendly and helpful. Great hot dogs. The course is very open, wide fairways, but there is a lot of water, especially on the back nine. We sill definitely play this course again.

Reasonably priced, nice layout. Other than head pro Frank, staff needs some training in hospitality, not very friendly overall. Course was in great shape, however, greens were very hard and un-receptive. A dry season may have contributed to that. Back side has a lot of water, all in play. Overall a very nice stop on any golf trail.

Wentworth was one of four courses we played at during February/March 2013. It was a nice course to play, tricky in parts, but enjoyable. The staff were helpful. If you intend to play here a number if times contact them before you arrive, we did and we got a little reduction on the green fees. Take plenty of spare balls!
