Gorgeous park. Great for all ages. Fishing, wading, boating, relaxing can all be accomplished in one beautiful park. A small parking fee and the place fills up quickly on weekends. A large area is devoted to 'green space' with picnic tables, restrooms, covered areas and then a beach area for other activities.

The perfect beach to soak in some sun or watch the sunset! Enjoy the less crowded beach and calm water of the gulf.Perhaps even see the dolphins go swim by! Sunsets are amazing!! Clean beach. Plenty of parking in the clean lot (Handicap parking available). There is self serve parking meter/machines. Pay for your parking or you will get a ticket! Local area allows for boat kayak rental, fishing or get a power walk in across the causeway. You will want to bring picnic lunch and cooler with beverages. Has a bath house and areas to rinse sand from your toes.

This is a unique beach, great causeway from the mainland to the small island beach. The beach is always clean. Wonderful park before the causeway. $5 per car entry fee but if you want to explore Fred Howard park, it's free.

Not exactly a "beach" but a pleasant place to spend a little time. Lovely small park. A little hard to get to but nice when you get there. Not very crowded and has good views.

This is a great beach and picnic area. The causeway leading to the beach was rebuilt a few years ago and makes his a very comfortable visit. Park is well maintained!

This park is beautiful with many options for hiking and walking. The beach is beautiful, but I did find it littered with garbage from previous days. This is truly a gem of a beach and is a great place to spend a day.

This was different. It's a very large park, with a causeway out to a small island used for a beach. You can do so much here; you name it. Kayaking, shelling, beach, swimming, everything. You can even bring fido, but keep him off of the beach. Dogs are allowed on the causeway but not the beach. You'll see the signs. Lots and LOTS of parking, but its $5 if you want to take your vehicle out on the causeway. You could park on the mainland and walk in; it would be a nice walk. The beach side is very well maintained and looks like what you would expect. Lots of shelters on the mainland part. A great nature place. I'd recommend to anybody, but it is not easy to find your way there. It's more a locals beach.

If you are looking fora quiet park on the beach with plenty to see and do, this is the place. Come. Heck it out.

I would drive my car to the end of the causeway, just to see the view of the Gulf and smell the fresh sea air. Then I began walking my dog, then riding my bike. I try to go here at least 4 times a week. You can watch windsurfing or talk to people fishing. It is such a friendly place to hang out. I've also been to the beach there many times. I like the beach because it is small and not touristy.

I came down to Tarpon Springs to escape the winter and soak up some Vitamin D and that is precisely what I did on the beach at Fred Howard Park. There was a man there renting out chairs and tents so for $20 we rented 2 beach chairs and a tent (which I should have gotten in more often--sunburn!). There was quite a bit of people on the beach for February but they were all family people no loud drunks of anything. Just the happy screams of children, a sound I happen to enjoy. There is a $5 parking fee... a lot of people think it is a lot of money but they need money to maintain the grounds... which look amazing by the way. I will be going back.

We went on a rainy day, but we would DEFINITELY go back. Beach and overall upkeep was excellent. Parking is only one minute walk or so from beach.

This is a pretty place, but don't go out of your way to get here. It's a small park with restrooms, a playground and beach area. We arrived just in time for the sunset, but the ranger kicked everyone out because the park closes "at sunset". We didn't get to finish watching the gorgeous show nature was putting on. I understand he wanted to get home. Just don't go here expecting to linger.

Nice clean beach with bathrooms and equipment rentals, sometimes open. $5 for parking is excessive, and they write tickets if you don't pay, as we were leaving I saw several cars with what looked like a ticket tucked under their wipers. Nice overall, although small. Very nice walking/jogging trail and picnic areas in another part of the park that has free parking.

What a beautiful park along the Gulf. We love to walk our dog or just sit and daydream in the sun or shade. Perfect for a picnic lunch and a quiet afternoon. The trails are well maintained and there are lots of picnic tables. We didn't get across the causeway to the beach but have been told it is comparable and more intimate than Clearwater Beach. Maybe next trip.

We watched the beautiful sunsets here, right on Gulf of Mexico! Very family friendly and sports oriented...highly recommended!
