Scenic and very good for biking and kayaking. Have been there frequently and, even when busy, the trails are easy to use.

The walk or bike ride is very interesting. They have worked hard at removing invasive species and preserving wetland. Good for birding early in the morning, kyack anytime. There is a good place to wash off boats with fresh water.

Even if you only have a spare hour, go to this preserve. The admission is free. It is an easy walk (half mile) to the observation tower. Climb three flights of stairs to see spectacular views of the Skyway Bridge, the boardwalks in the park, and the gulf. We watched the colors change in the water as clouds passed over and the sun reappeared. Don't miss this treasure!

We visit this park several times when we are in Bradenton. Includes a sturdy lookout tower for a great view of the area out to the gulf.

Fantastic spot to bike, walk and watch birds. This area is a salt marsh preserve with great views and lots of nature.

This is a very nice park to visit. There is no admission fee. The trails are very wide and well-marked. They are good for both walking and biking. Although we did not do any kayaking at the time, it looks like they have some very nice areas to kayak in and through the mangroves. There is a nice observation tower you can climb and see 180 degrees around you. There is also a nice long boardwalk through the mangroves as well. I would recommend this place for any outdoor enthusiast.

Robinson Nature Preserve is a great place to take the entire family. The paths run along the river and thus enable you to see all sorts of birds and small wild life. There are spots you can enter a small area to get to the river where the water is shallow to view fish, crabs etc. ENJOY!!

Full credit to Manatee County for developing this preserve so sympathetically, a haven for wildlife who don't seem to mind sharing this pristine wilderness with the walkers, kayakers, joggers, cyclists and fishermen. It's tucked away in West Bradenton but well worth the effort in seeking it out, the interesting visitor center which welcomes you at the entrance is an historic house transported from a site in Palmetto and refurbished to it's former glory, facilities include a kayak storage area and restrooms, visitors should note there isn't any food facilities, so bring your own refreshments. There are various trails, some taking you to the Manatee River with stunning views across Tampa Bay, others lead you to a magnificent viewing tower where you can be eye to eye with Ospreys and Bald Eagles, rangers are always on hand to advise the best viewing spots for birders etc.

This is the place to do it all! This place rocks! It offers everything anyone who appreciates the great outdoors could possibly want. The natural unspoiled beauty, coupled with the solitude of a cathedral, is something that can only be experienced in a few places in our great country--- and fortunately, this is one of them. And---did I mention the birds? Or---the nesting eagles?

Very pleasant setting, level walking on firm paths. There is fitness trail and an observation tower.Fishing and kayaking the lagoons are allowed. There is a little "advertised" entrance to the Preserve from Manatee Avenue with the parking lot best entered going west back to Bradenton from Anna Maria Island, less than a mile from the West Cove Bay South condos. You really have to look for it. There is a paved path back under Manatee Avenue to the Preserve. One caveat: the Manatee Overlook spur trail is not worth it as there are many head-bonking limbs over the trail and there is a lot of washed up Bay litter along the way.

My wife and I recently walked through a trail at the free to the public Robinson Nature Preserve. I say walked instead of hiked because the trails are flat and very nicely finished with crushed shells. There are rest rooms and ample benches. Cycling and pets are encouraged. The trail we took was modest in length, about 4 miles and affords several opportunities to move onto a beach facing Tampa Bay. The preserve has several waterways where kayaking and fishing are permitted. The only reason I give this three stars instead of four is that this is not really an educational experience about flora and fauna. There were very few signs or displays explaining what they were trying to accomplish. If you are looking for a nice easy walk or ride, this is the place for you.

We have been visiting Robinson Preserve as it was cleared, replanted, and grown. A jewel in the county. Birds galore and native vegetation. Kayak trails, walking trails take you to the water. Inline skating and bicycle friendly. They even have picnic tables, restrooms, and a beautiful old home that is being restored! Good place for all ages to enjoy!

We have seen Robinson Preserve both from the walking trails and from several hours of kayaking. It truly is a bit of heaven either way. The pathways are smooth, many blacktopped, the bridges are all in pristine shape. You can walk a short distance to the first bridge and just stand around watching a variety of birds and possibly some fishermen or walk several miles. From the kayaks, even quieter and definitely more birds that often allow you to just pass by in your kayak if you do so quietly. There is a wonderful natural mangrove tunnel which you get through by a combination of paddling and reaching up an pulling yourself through. Terrific!!
