You want to let them kids get there anxiety out this is the place. Directly on the inter coastal waterway plenty of things for the kids.
It was only 57 degrees & windy, decided to take this cruise which travels down inter-coastal from Delray to Boca Raton. Beautiful inclosed yacht ... Sites, drinks & food! A great afternoon!
Located on the Intracoastal, this cozy little park is great for people watching, relaxing and basking in the sun. Lilo's is accross the street for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a drink. From this park you can watch the bridge raise and lower with the passing of super yachts. Nice atmosphere with convenient parking.
This park is in a wonderful setting and has several rides for small children.Very close to shopping as well.
Loved the 2 hr. cruise down the intercoastal waterway,Got to see gorgeous homes and learned interesting facts about that area.
Veterans Park is located along Atlantic Avenue and the Intercaostal. We attended an outdoor art exhibit there. We also took the boat from this park for a 2 hour cruise on the Intercoastal waterway...where we saw manatees just off the Park. Parking is available at the upscale shopping area next door.
My daughter and I have been visiting this park for many years, even before they updated the playground. Despite the addition of a sun shield, it can get broiling hot on the wooden surfaces. Children love to play hide and seek inside the gated area, where a separated space for toddlers keeps activities well confined. Also in this park is a small recreation hall, and a gazebo where various activities occur. A dinner cruise boat docks on the east side, which borders the intra-coastal waterway right near and under the Atlantic Ave. bridge. Pathways lead out into the shopping/ dining areas which are located on the south and west sides of the parking lot.During season, this small place is packed, so go early!
Very good park. Lots to see and do for young kids. Great jungle gym to play on. Lots of different ins and outs. Great way to spend a Saturday with your kids.
Beautiful view. Great place to park. Small playground for kids. Nice for boat-watching. Other than that, there's not much to it. Of course, if there is an art event in the park, it's definitely worth a visit.
Veterans Park is on the Intercoastal. It is where you go to take the pleasant cruises from downtown Delray Beach. There is a playground for kids, with some fun climbing equipment, and it is fenced in case your bundle of joy is a runner. There is a Gazebo where I see folks doing yoga and Tai Chi sometimes. The benches along the Intercoastal are a good place to sit and watch for Manatees in the winter. There are places to fish, too.The activities offered in the fieldhouse are plentiful, from painting to Tai Chi, and in addition to shuffleboard, this park features "Boules" or lawn bowling. You can learn the game there, get on a team, but this is a serious group of bowlers and they can get pretty competitive. There is a little shopping mall that has some gorgeous greenery and flowers there, with a restaurant or two tucked away among the retail stores. There is usually enough parking for the shoppers and park-goers.All-in-all, it is a nice little park.
Nice park near the drawbridge. Could use some updating and painting but a pleasant place to stroll along the canal in the evening.
The kids love the huge playground and the adults enjoy sitting by the Intracoastal Waterway fishing or watching the boats go by.
This park is really close to everything downtown and offers the best view of the Intercoastal as any park in town. The park is big enough to accommodate the social blends of Delray both day and night. However, the only drawback for young families with kids is that the playground area is in bad need of reconditioning. The wood has goneby so there are a lot of safety concerns and your kids will get splinters if they are not dressed in long-sleeved shirts and pants. The bathrooms are "iffy" as to cleanliness and there seems to be a problem near the water fountain with a lot of homeless people or sketchy people lingering. I've always loved this park for its location but just think it needs some serious updates.
The park is nice and the best kept secret in town. Plenty of parking and well lit at night. We go there often for walks and it's close to the beach too.
Nice little park along the intracoastal waterway. Bring some food you can pick up from along Atlantic Avenue restaurants/cafes and relax a few moments from hot Florida sun. There is some nice wooden playground equipment for kids. Be SURE to keep an eye on the kids because there are no safety rails along the waterway. Little fountain and kiosk for tour boat are also located in the park. Watch the drawbridge rise periodically to let large boats through.
