This is a great beach any time of year! Even during December and January, the water temperature is warm enough to swim (high 70's). Although it is extremely crowded during holiday season, the crowds taper off after new years during the weekdays. There is parking at a number of public lots along A1A (ticket machines for parking at $1.50 /hour accept cash or credit card), in cluding Atlantic Dunes Park just north of Linton and Sandoway between Linton and Atlantic, both of which have bathrooms and showers. There is also metered parking all along the beach on A1A (at $1.50/hour cash only). Parking is extremely difficult during holidays and on weekends during high season, so just be patient and sit and wait for someone to leave; there's always people it seems coming and going. There are lifeguard stations all along the beach and signs will warn you on days there are strong currents or jelly fish. The beach is always clean and the ocean bottom sandy. Every time I go to the beach at or near Atlantic Avenue in Delray, I am amazed at how much fun it really is.The sand is always clean, lots of places to sit (there are even rental areas) and the water is great.No, change that, the ocean in Delray is as beautiful and clear as the best spots in the Caribbean. Imagine standing in water up to your neck and seeing your toes.A short walk from the beach to A1A finds several great lunch places to enjoy.

I have been to a couple of beach along the shore from Jupiter to Ft Lauderdale, and I have to say DelRay is the best beach in this area. Good Sand, water was nice and clear. Jupiter seems to be more brownish and lots of seaweed. Had some beers, nobody bothered us! Bathroom are not too far away when you come out of the beach area.

Restrooms nearby. Water so clear you can see your feet even when you're chest deep. Some hazards in the water when there have been storms - pieces of wood, small bits of concrete. Not a good shelling beach.

This is one of the best well kept beach.I love coming back to the beach late in the afternoon with a basket of food and drinks.Very clean and the beach restoration providing more space to do fun stuffs with family and friends.Bring a beach chair, cold drinks and relax.

This is a pretty beach with nice sand, two long rows of umbrellas and chairs for rent for $40/day or $500/yr. It is close to everything and is perfect if you don't mind the crowds.

Delray Beach along with all there is to do on Atlantic Ave is truly a great family beach. There is never a lack of services available beyond the beach and all within walking distance.

The Delray beach is beautiful...clean, easy to access and has chairs and shades to rent. Lots of nice restaurants across the street where you can bring your carry out back to the beach.Parking requires lots of quarters!

The beach and ocean are beautiful. Enjoy renting chairs/umbrellas and relaxing to the sound of the waves. Parking is the only negative.

We live a couple of blocks from the beach. We love the beach. It is crowded in height of season and cluttered with umbrellas and such but it is always splendid. Can work a mile in either direction (more, if one wishes) and the view is splendid. Nice eats nearby. No dogs allowed, however. Like that the beachgoers comprise a homogeneous group, all ages, multi-ethnic. If smoking bothers you, suggest you avoid beach. Hoping for the day when it is a non-smoking beach!

this beach was a short walk from our hotel, making it a perfect place to take a walk after breakfast in the morning before the crowds arrived.just beautiful.

Delray Municiple Beach is so clean, so deep in length to the water you don't have to worry about the tide coming up to your seating area. The sand is clean and the waters edge has a minimal amount of seaweed with no garbage floating in! There are life guards and lounge chairs for rental including umbrella coverage if desired. A long beach uninterrupted for strolling, running and power walking. Surfers have some wave action depending on the time of day.

We spent several after noons watching the waves roll in. Beach is easily accessible and clean. The are showers for rinsing sand off.

nice clean beach. lifeguards know their stuff. too bad there were jellyfish and man of wars in water.... :-(

great place to walk, either on the sidewalk or the sandy beach. They have chairs and canopies to rent.
