Think of the orchestra as Jet Blue, and mezzanine as Delta. You get more leg room on Jet Blue! I love the people that work/volunteer here. They are elderly, sweet and knowledgeable. The Peabody is a great venue! Always a fun experience.
The auditorium is lovely & comfortable, and the 2015 program is excellent. Unfortunate that this is spoiled by an inflexable policy of no changes in seats, no returns, no changes whatsoever ! This was made even worse by a rude elderly "gentleman " working in the boxoffice that took offence to our request to change the location of our seats due to my hearing impairment.
We were seated in row X, seats 3 and 4, fairly far back but with excellent views of the stage. The auditorium is small compared to some, but the seats are comfortable and well laid out. The venue offers a wide range of drinks at relatively reasonable prices. The acoustics were excellent for the London Symphony with Pinchas Zukerman, which was superb. Only complaint was that I did have to wait in line for almost 15 minutes for the Ladies' restroom-extra restrooms would be appropriate for a venue of this size, particularly when performances are sold out. we parked in the garage a block away as there was another event next door, event parking was $5.
Went there on the 12th of Dec, 2014 to see Lewis Black, the show was outstanding, Lewis Black is a very talented and funny man. The auditorium however left a little to be desired, the seats are very small and compact, you cannot help touching the person seated alongside of you. They sell drinks but there are no cup holders to keep them in, the spacing between the rows are very narrow, even when standing to let someone by they still have to squirm to get by you. While the shows that they offer are usually very good, the auditorium needs a makeover.
We saw Jerry Seinfeld here - had balcony seats and other than being closer to the stage, these are great seats with great sound! We also had a glass of wine and a soda, for just $7. For an auditorium / show - that was cheap. Great parking (even Valet) and close to great shops and eating.
This past week we had the good fortune to see the Chicago Concert at the Peabody. The venue is perfect because there is no bad seat! The acoustics are first class and, even in the upper level, the sound is great. Parking was close and well organized and valet was available for a reasonable fee of $10. The amazing thing to me was that you can take drinks with you into the theater! As for Chicago, if they come anywhere near where you live GO SEE THEM!! They are better than ever and the trombone player is worth the price of the ticket. The young brothers, the Ries Brothers, opening act had the audience on their feet. They are a name to keep an eye on in music. Amazing evening.
This concert was sold out. The Peabody is a historical theater and offers not only concerts but plays symphony, ballet a variety of entertainment, something for everyone.
This is a small but very good place to enjoy a performance by many different artists and players. It is said to have the best acoustics of any Auditorium in America.
Great performances throughout the year. Oldies but goodies, ballet, orchestra, rock bands, you name it.
The auditorium is very nice. It has ample seating and it was easy to see what was happening on stage. The staff were diligent about making it a pleasant experience for attendees. The only thing that bothered me about the 4 trips there is that it doesn't seem to have an adequate exhaust/filtration system. "Hazing" was used during the events and even the front foyer was full.
It was great and had excellent seating. It was very comfortable and performances were easy to see and watch.
The Peabody Auditorium was great! Good seats and the performances we watched were great! I liked being able to see over other people's heads.
This is a beautiful theater going to waste because of a poor booking policy. The area's only people with any money to support the theater, Baby Boomers, are not being given any shows for their generation. Yet each time the administration of this theater does take them into consideration (almost never) the theater sells out. The schedule of events is pathetic and there needs to be a change in administration at this venue.
Went to see "The Addams Family" musical with friends, it was hysterical. For a small town, this is a great venue. The employees were very courteous and helpful. Will be going back in Dec, to see Lewis Black
Want to say thank you to the volunteer, Jeff, who gave us our program. W loved the show, and enjoyed the ladies we sat next to. The seating is very comfy, and the sound is. Dry good.
