Had great seats and could see the whole track, race was excellent! Would love to do it again sometime.
A great experience being driven round the world famous track with a very informative guide. We were shown the drivers briefing room, race garages, winners row and podium .They had a very obliging photographer who as well as taking pictures for sale would also take them with your own camera or phone.Next we were shown round the RV camping area and spotter towers before heading up to the grandstand for a spectators view of the speedwayWe had a great tour and although having done one previously thoroughly enjoyed it again.
The speedway offered an afternoon open house the Wednesday before the Daytona 500. Why not go? We were so glad that we did go to the open house. To see the speedway up close and personal puts a whole new perceptive when you watch the race. Worth the trip to check out.
We enjoyed the trip around the speedway. It was interesting to see what the inside of a race course is like. Would have enjoyed it if the film at the end was longer - it was interesting, but too short.
My husband and I toured the speedway a few years back and took the kids on our last trip. We have a 13,11,8, and 1 year old and had a very easy time navigating the site and taking the tour. We even enjoyed lunch at the onsite cafe. Our tour guide was very fun and made the tour relative to everyone in the group.
We did the VIP tour and had a great experience. It was raining pretty good when we got there, but cleared up so we could get onto the track. Good for kids and adults.
Two Days at the raceway was amazing... the Daytona 500 is a must for the bucket list. An all inclusive package with RaceAway Hospitality was well worth it ,we had just the best time, great seats on the front strait. Pit passes and track walk breakfast was served on the Sunday, with drinks and nibbles till Race time.
Looking forward to the completion of all the Daytona Rising, all of the parts that are done, finally will bring the experience to a whole new level that the Daytona 500 and all of its guest deserve.
Went there for the Daytona500 . the track was great and so was the whole Daytona Beach area. had a blast , would def go back
The Daytona 500 is a special race. We went for the first time and spent the week in an RV inside the speedway for speed week and the race. "Camping" ranges from you and a tent to sites for multimillion dollar RVs. We were in a modest RV next to Lake Lloyd. This is a week for the racing enthusiast and/or meeting, talking and partying with a wide variety of people. From the top of our RV we could see 80% of the track, but we would often go to the Fan Zone, which is next to the pits for one perspective, the corners for another. This is a 2 1/2 mile track with 36% banking on the main turns and an 18% bank on the front apex turn of the straight away. Before the 500, we we out on the race track from the Fan Zone, and walking up the track gave you some perspective of the race. We also did the Richard Petty Driving experience where you can drive a race car on the track, which is wild. The morning festivities before the race in the Fan Zone and front straight way was a must attend to experience the festivities and excitement. The food was reasonably priced, which was a nice surprise. You could meet the drivers though-out the week, walk up to the garage windows and watch the activity, watch the multiple big screen TVs and more. It was an experience that found my wife, who is not a NASCAR fan, to being a fan and cheering several drivers.Easy in and out as we left multiple times when the action during the week was minimal. Restrooms and showers were abundant. The speedway is going through a renovation, which will be even more awesome when it is completed in 2016.The grandstand museum was very interesting. There were several trams inside the track that made it easy to get to any part of the track easily. There are a variety of restaurants within walking distance of the speedway as well as a variety of camping lots next to or a short distance away with trams should you be looking for an even cheaper camping experience. All the staff were polite and very attentive to your needs. They want you to enjoy the experience. We certainly did and if you are a racing fan a must do for your bucket list at least once.
We attended the Nascar Daytona 500 spring race this past February an it was terrific! There are lots of things to do and the Midway is full of all day activities and rides and games, food and so forth! We have attended races at several tracks and this one by far had the most activities, vendors, and things to enjoy throughout the day. Every driver had a station set up for vending and the food options were unlimited. The weather was sunny and warm and the pre-race shows and concerts were fabulous! Our seats were in section 384, row 8, at the end of the pit exit and beginning of turn one. You wanna get seats as high up as possible here as the track is large and you will have a more limited view the closer to the track that you get. Be prepared for a lot of walking, steps, escalators, etc. The large screens and announcers make it easy to keep up with your drivers. The on track experience and tours are fabulous, as is the layout of the parking areas, stands, vendors, etc. We parked in the free parking, 2 miles away, and rode the school buses over to the track. We also rode them back. The lines moved quickly and functionally and it was not a long wait or hassle at all. Traffic flowed well, once we left the parking area. Best race experience yet!!
We've been regulars at the Great American Race for the past 15 years, and shall remain so til we cannot make the walk from the parking area. It is expensive, and traffic is horrible, but for any true(stock car) race fan, it is our super bowl! Many changes have been made , some good some bad, but we would not miss it for anything. Not sure if the speedway reconstruction is positive or not, remains to be seen. Pay the $40 (this year) and park at Volusia Mall for quicker access and speedier exit. Have a safe and happy time!
Having seen the race many times on TV visiting the actual race day is totally amazing. The speed the cars go round the track is utterly mad they whiz by at 170 miles plus an hour. We managed to get seats in the new part at the pit out end where you see all the cars getting the wheels changed and refueling . All the pre race entertainment is typical of the big American day out too with this year s pop idol kid rock performing before the national anthem and fly past by the blue angels .then came the dray horses of the brewery and the coke lorry and fire brigade and ambulance service parade. This of course was followed by a felt of utility vehicle s transporting all of the drivers around prior to the race. The race is long and the thousands of fans cheer their favourite drivers with loud cheers each time they pass. Although it's fast paced racing there was very few incidents which caused cars to leave the race. Plenty of food from all nations available to buy drink stands are everywhere and the parking is local but not right outside the venue, your guided into parking area, s then bussed into the track by the yellow scholarships buses which are running all day long and free. A day well worth the effort to go.
We were there for the Truck race and the Daytona 500. There is a whole story within that but to keep it short, it was such a fantastic experience and a dream come true. I have a ton of photos from the 500 and it was such an electric atmosphere at Daytona. I hope sometime in the future I can come back to this amazing place.
This speedway is magnificent and massive in size. Recent improvements have put this facility superior to any sporting facility previously visited. One of the the most exciting experiences of my life. A definite bucket list item now checked off.
