If you are in the Jupiter area, it's worth visiting the Jupiter Lighthouse. The guides are most informative, and the views from the top are stunning.
Must see! for all ages! History buffs will love this! Whole family will find interesting! Old Florida! beautiful views !!!
Very informative tour up this spiral staircase for a 360 view of both the coastline and the towns surrounding. (There are only 134 steps with several rest stops on the assent) We had a group of @ 25 - various ages, teens to 70 yr olds led by our guide, Bruce. Bruce shared history of the Military, Indians, General Meade & Robert E Lee. At 68 & 69 my husband and I would highly recommend this beautifully maintained RED lighthouse. Photos Included.
Hello Lighthouse Visitor and thank you for your review. The policy of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is that all children must be 48" tall to climb the tower for safety purposes. We do not apply age to climbing. Our tours are supposed to be approximately 45 minutes. We conduct regular docent training and I would like to include your review in our next session. May I ask exactly when you visited our Lighthouse? This would help us with our training and improve our guest services and overall experience for all visitors.Thank you for your visit.Sincerely,Kathleen GloverAssistant Director
Our first visit to the area, and we loved this! The property is gorgeous, the museum is interesting and the lighthouse tour is informative and not at all rushed. The view from the top is amazing. Well worth the cost of admission and an hour or so of your time.
We very much enjoyed our visit to the lighthouse. The docent led an informative walk up to the lighthouse and then we were able to climb to the top and look at the views from all sides. Stunning in all directions. Following that, we were able to go into the oldest house in the county, which was moved to this location. Another docent told us about it and about the person who originally owned the home. We then went through the nice little museum, which was also quite informative.
I thought the people were knowledgeable regarding the period the lighthouse was built and the lighthouse itself. The area was kept very clean. I would visit this attraction again
The retired gentleman who gave the tour did an excellent job. As he grew up in the area, he could also give us an historical viewpoint. Had plenty of time to walk around at the top of the lighthouse.
We visited the lighthouse and museum during a recent vacation. The price seems fair for the experience. It was $9 to view the museum and tour the lighthouse. The climb to the top has a few landings so you can catch your breath or see the view. We were there on a mild day and it was pretty windy, so no one wanted to stay at the top for long. A nice stop if you're in the area.
I have been to the top five times with friends and family and it is always amazing. the volunteer tour guides are so great and the museum keeps getting better and better
Walked 107 stairs to the top,. There are little landing areas to stop and rest along the way. Once at the top, absolutely beautiful . We were able to watch the sunset in the west and the moonrise in the east. It was a bit breezy and chilly, but wonderful view!
There are three parts to this attraction. The museum tells the story not only of the significance of the place to safety at sea, but also of the several hundred years of history of Indian occupation under the English and the Spanish. The lighthouse is interesting in many respects, and the tour takes you to the observation platform right at the top from where the views are great. But take time to understand how it is built and the technology that it harnesses, given its age. Finally there is a good little museum shop. Rest rooms are limited, and none at the lighthouse itself. No food or beverage options here, but not an issue for us. Definitely worth a visit.
I've lived in Florida for 8 years and had never visited the lighthouse until a few weeks back and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a beautiful day to climb the lighthouse and then when we arrived at the top the views were gorgeous. It was very inexpensive and was a nice way to start the day in Jupiter. There were quite a few steps, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes!
Visited the lighthouse for the first time & enjoyed the view! The lighthouse overlooks the intracoastal & the views are just beautiful! It costs $9 for adults to take the tour of the lighthouse & the museum/gift shop. I wasn't so interested in the tour at first, but it turned out to be informative! If you have kids, it would be a great, quick history lesson for them!!
This was a good tour. We had a guide that talked to us about the history of the lighthouse and about the area. There was also a guide at the top of the lighthouse that talked to us about the lighthouse. There were 39 steps to get to the lighthouse as well as 105 steps to the top. After every 25 steps there was a place where you could take pictures out the window and catch your breath. There is a window at all 4 points on the compass. We also got to see the lighthouse keeper's home which had been to the lighthouse site. The museum was interesting and had a film about the history of the lighthouse.
