Life long learning... MOSH shows you how. 3 minutes in and I had learned something I had always wondered: what it feels like to be next to a whale! They have a life sized whale cut-out on a wall to give you a sense of the size of these immense creatures. The rest of the visit was equally amazing - every minute of it, including playing peak-a-boo with a very large owl (it was her idea not mine!).

I was trying to attend an event and purchase an early admission ticket (half the price of tickets at the door) and their online system was not working. I began trying to purchase tickets at 3:30PM and the early admission cut off was at 7pm. Their online system kept taking me in circles and not allowing me to purchase the tickets. I sent an email to customer service explaining my issue and received a response from a jerk named Paul M. Wenglowsky "Director of Visitor Experience" basically telling me I was out of luck. What a crappy director of visitor experience. I didn't even experience it and can easily say he's a jerk. I gave him a call to explain my issue again, stating that their site kept taking me in circles back to the home page and wouldn't allow me to buy the tickets before the cut off. The only genius thing he could say was "The only way it would do that is if it was after the cut off at 7pm. Purchase the full price ticket at the door." How many times do I have to tell you that it was giving me issues at 3:30, Paul?! He refused to work with me and allow me, a student trying to get into this silly museum, to purchase at the early admission price. Well, thank you, Paul. I had about 30 family members (children and all) coming into town over the summer from overseas and was planning on taking them to the MOSH, but you can forget that now!!!

It's a really nice small museum. It was only $10, parking was free, and the exhibits-- especially the Florida history exhibit-- were fascinating. It's a great way to spend a couple of hours.

My kids love MOSH. Great hands on activities that are so facinating that your kids wont know until later that they are learning as well as having fun. Great special attractions, so visit the website often. A little pricey for what you get.

My family and I visited this hotel on a weekday. Everyone enjoyed all of the interactive things to do here. We signed up for the Planetarium class which had a small fee. We all enjoyed this and learned a lot about planets and the stars. There is also a kid tree inside for kids to play in for 5 and under. There was a free parking lot for our car. The elevator was down and workers offered to carry our strollers up the stairs for us. Some of the exhibits did not work and need to be fixed.

This is more a museum of history than a museum of science. Jacksonville is such a big city that it is very disappointing to call this a museum of science. The science museum in Tampa is way better...

We joined a birthday party at MOSH. My kids had a great time! Wish there were more things for younger kids...

Our favorite part of MOSH was learning about the pirates and shipwrecks. The body exhibit was interesting but i have seen it before elsewhere. The planetarium movie was good at a decent price. If you are looking to spend 3-5 hours in the city this is the place. Was not very crowded and free parking.

The MOSH is the Epcot Center of Jacksonville! I would recommend spending at least two days here in order to see all of the exhibits. There are three levels to the museum, plus an outdoor exhibit. There are stairs, elevators and bathrooms that are easily accessible. The various exhibits are diverse and educational. I highly recommend the history of Jacksonville exhibit. The planetarium show is fantastic, well worth the reasonable fee. There is something for everybody here, from younger kids to adults. The only unfortunate thing is that they don't have a café. They do have a beverage machine that offers soda and water.

This is an exceptional hands-on museum for families with children. The planetarium and science shows were ecxcellent.

You can go through this place in about two hours. There is a small live animal area where sometimes you can pet some of the animals. If your kids like dinosaurs there is only one. Get the planetarium ticket and its cheaper on the first weekend of the month if you have a BOA card (each person gets in free with a card) or go on Fridays when it is only $5.. see deals on their website.

MOSH is a really neat place. Their exhibits are fun and interactive, and pretty informative too. The Florida Naturalist’s Center and Atlantic Tails exhibit are really neat. For those interested in history, Currents of Time gives a great look into the local history of Jacksonville. It's a pretty good size museum, and absolutely worth checking out.

As the review says, we came on a Friday, which lowered our admission costs to 5$ per head. This allows you to see the entire museum and most of the shows. They do give you a schedule, which lets you know which ones are covered, which ones are extra cost, and which ones are limited by number. The museum itself consists of three floors. There was a fair representation of energy science, a very small zoo showing some of the amphibians and reptiles in the area, some interesting information on space, biology of humans and some of our friends from the lake and sea, and a traveling exhibit featuring under water exploration and wreck recovery. My teens enjoyed the energy info, kind of buzzed through the zoo, but really found the wreck recovery info interesting. They loved the hurricane machine, although it's extremely loud and obnoxious. Perhaps that's why.I found the wreck info very interesting. They featured a number of survivor stories from one of the wrecks, and had lots of treasures discovered from the depths, everything from pieces of 8 and bars of silver to delicate porcelain and hair decorations. We went to the show on energy science and it was a winner. They blew strings up on a regular basis and demonstrated a lightening show that was stupendous and breathtaking. Everyone liked that but I actually forgot to take a photo it was so interesting. Anyway, worth the trip and worth the money, especially on a Friday.

We spent the morning at MOSH and it was very fun. They have great exhibits on local mammals and reptiles, a fascinating exhibit on the human body, and a great shipwrecked series at the moment. The treehouse downstairs is great for little ones, but most of the rest of the museum is geared for elementary students not preschoolers - although they can still interact and enjoy the exhibits, we did. The trains for Christmas were great!
