Visited the Hathaway Farm Corn Maze and found it to be fun, challenging and worth revisiting annually. Make it a stop.
This was a great corn maze just north of Rutland and provided spectacular mountain views to go with your classic New England farm scene. The corn maze itself was very well done and quite challenging. Since the maze changes every year with a new theme, we are sure to return.
A great place for agrotourism. We got lost in the music-themed maze for almost an hour. A wonderful destination for young and old alike. Maze is a little pricey at $12 per adult as you get nothing else with the ticket purchase.
I drove over an hour to come to this, supposedly, amazing corn maze experience. Before I could even enter the maze, the rude woman working the register turned me off from the experience completely. My friend had our dog outside, by the entrance to the fence, not inside the fence. Before I could ask of dogs were allowed (lack of signage led me to believe it may be okay) she interrupted the couple in front of me in line to say "you can't have that dog here. This dog hates other dogs." She said this in a very rude manner that made me feel very unwelcome. I decided to look last this and give this place a chance. I paid for myself and my friend who was outside, far away now, waiting with the dog. I was given my wristband and the rude woman did not trust me to bring the wristband over to my friend. I'm not sure what she thought I could have possible been up to with a BOUGHT AND PAID FOR wristband, but I felt quite patronized by this act. The fact that she would not trust an adult with this task sent me over the edge. I decided to leave this farm and this terrible experience behind me. I figured I may as well not wen bother ask for my money back because this lady apparently already had it out for me. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. If you want to get a true experience of Vermont, try going literally anywhere else.
This maze is so much fun. We took our grandson who was 5 and I am not sure who had more fun. They do a wonderful job and it is different every year. We will be there again this fall
Hathaway Farm is not just a corn maze. They also have great natural beef. The porterhouse steak is great. The steak dinner cheered my wife up after she did all my tax paperwork for me.
We have done corn mazes before and this one is challenging but a lot of fun. An hour and half or so from Burlington we stopped by on our way to Cooperstown. The maze took us around 2 hours -- well actually I took one of the escape doors after 1 1/2 but my husband and son found the end after I bailed out. There is also a farm where younger kids could enjoy seeing the animals. After you finish the maze they will show you the aerial view of maze.
My friends celebrated my birthday here & made reservations (during the week) for dinner & the corn maze. We were treated to a wonderful BBQ and good, homemade food to go with the burgers. We had the maze to ourselves. It was AWESOME!
Pack up the family and head up Route 7 to Hathaway Farm for a fantastic outdoor activity all ages will enjoy! We had a blast wandering through the 12-acre maze looking for clues and collecting as many punches as we could find. It took us 2 hours, but we did eventually find The End. This year's theme was the Olympics and they did a terrific job laying out the maze with vantage points where you can stop and admire the views. There is a snack bar inside the maze that is open on weekends, and a mini-maze for kids that might not be ready for the challenge of the big one. Hathaway Farm also sells their delicious, heathy grass fed beef on-site at very reasonable prices. Check out their website www.hathawayfarm.com for more information!
