the growler garage

While it's clearly an attraction, I'm not sure that's how I'd categorize the Growler Garage in South Burlington. It's a beer-only bar, a craft beer tasting room, a store (selling beer, beer-related items, and a limited selection of bottled wines), and very nominally a restaurant selling locally made soup and (free) peanuts.That said, we had the best time sampling craft beers from Vermont and several other states (Maine, New Hampshire, California, Colorado, Michigan, and Delaware). The staff people were very engaging and helpful, eager to talk about the beer and their business model, which is based on the precept that learning about beers should be, and by gosh is, fun. The selection of beers on tap turns over as each brewer's keg is finished off so we cant wait to return and see what they're offering next.

These people really know their beer and are happy to share their knowledge with you. We had a fun time while trying several different types of beer. You can taste test it there and fill a growler to go.
