Do go here if you are in the neighborhood - really nice and great assortment of goods, enough to make a chef like me go crazy, wanting to buy everything. As we walked in, we were offered a cup of tea and coffee, nice touch!

Three of us signed up for a cooking class with John. The theme was "pot pies" and we cooked three different ones and then made a dessert with pastry on the top of the ramekin. John was very informative and patient with us and Ellen washed the dishes as quickly as we dirtied them. John accommodated both gluten-free and vegetarian options in the crowd. Of course he made everything look so easy, using all of the latest gadgets that we were able to purchase in the store for 20%off. We had enough leftovers to take home to our husbands! It was a really fun afternoon and the store is wonderful.

Last month I worked with Chef John to give my daughter a gift of cooking skills. She wanted to learn some basics and also work on some dishes that she and her boyfriend could make together instead of defaulting to take-out. John and Kathy put together three beautiful and easy dishes and we had an awesome chocolate lava cake for dessert. The class was absolutely fun; lots of useful information, lots of hands on learning and John did a great job teaching them both some new ways to look at old staples (chicken, pork, mac and cheese.) I visited my sister in VT for the weekend and she suggested a Saturday night cooking class with John at The Store. It was a great choice-fun atmosphere, John is very outgoing and has had such an interesting background in culinary-definitely learned a lot from the class! Our theme was Caribbean and for $60 it was a great price for a class and coursed dinner! We brought our own wine and enjoyed that during the class and meal. You can choose to be hands on or just relax in the beautiful setting. I'd love to plan a private class with more of our friends the next time I'm up in VT!

I went to a private cooking class with my girlfriends. We had a wonderful time with Chef John and Gail. We learned to prepare a wonderful menu. It was positively delicious. We then went shopping in the store afterwards which I just loved the things they sold for to enhance your culinary ability! Would definitely do it again!

Great place to find unique items and great hospitality. They served coffee and tea while we shopped and were extremely helpful.

My daughter and I took a fun cooking class with Chef John and we both had a great time! They have a variety of different classes....everything from global cuisine to desserts. I would highly recommend this interesting and fun experience for anyone...novice and experienced cooks will both get something out of the experience learning from a professional chef.
