This is a terrific small and family friendly mountain. Trails are easy and shorter than some you can do on other mountains. Well worth a visit and perfect for young families.
We love to try new mountains and had heard good things about Bromley and wanted to stay slope side so we rented a 3 bedroom in Bromley Village and headed up for the weekend. we were very impressed with the whole place... Pros: condo was very nice, right on the mountain so my 7 year old daughter thought that was so cool to ski on ski off. She and my 5 year old did the ski school which was very good...both of them had big smiles on their faces after. For me, the skiing was very good. Not a ton of runs but the ones they had were nice and long. Conditions and grooming were very good and the high speed quad got you to the top very quick. The mountain faces the sun all day and that is very nice. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The common area was big with a cafeteria area and fireplace, nothing fancy but fine. There was a very nice general store right next to the resort that had lots of prepared food, wine, groceries, and did i mention wine? the life tickets were very affordable and even cheaper when you rent at the Village! Cons: no 1/2 day ski school....didn't like this at all. I like putting the kids in the morning and then skiing with them in the afternoon. but the instructors were GREAT Marvie and Colin. Also, there was only one bar/restaurant at the resort. Seems like they are missing boat here... overall, we will be back. i would call it a very good family mountain.
My six year old daughter were crying before going to the ski school. At the end of day she was happy and she was very excited to tell me all the turns she learnt. Thanks Marvie Campell, you are the best. My two boys are the 1st time snow boarder. By the end of the third day, they were able to come down the blue trail confidently. Andrew is their coach and I would not thank him enought.Kidsrule is so wonderful. I don't think you can find any better value anywhere. Thanks, Bromley Ski School, next year, my husband and I will take lessons too.
We visited Bromley for the first time yesterday, and I was very impressed with our visit. The snow conditions were perfect, and the customer service was stellar. When renting my equipment, a staff member was quick to help make sure my boots were put on correctly. Also, it was my son's first time skiing. The instructors went over and above the call of duty to help me and my son. I was extremely impressed with their kindness and ability to work with my son. I'm a very grateful parent!
The people who work here are great. We were disappointed that some of the lifts were closed for the last week of February just because it's not super busy. Also, the trail layout is a little hard on beginners, because many green trails force you onto blues for a bit. Plus that means that there are a lot of people who are going really fast on the green trails because they came off a blue. But most of these things aren't the mountian's fault! We had a pretty good time, and as far as mountains for skiing or boarding, I would say it is on the positive side of average. We like the area and it is definitely a good deal so we will probably come back, but we will also try other places too.
Bromley was a great place to start our 4 year old with private lessons and ski school for the day. Our 11 and 9 year old also did ski school and loved it - nice schedule of 9:45am til 2:45 pm - Mom and Dad actually skiied too! Affordable, nice facility.
Bromley has kept classic skiing alive by an easy to navigate mountain and a super friendly staff. Kids are not only welcomed here, they are treasured. The terrrain offers something for every level and the historic lodge and fireplace are simply wonderful. This has become our official family "home away from home." Thanks Bromley!
Most people have never heard of Bromley - and the locals are just fine with that. This is a smal mountain for Vermont but still respectable at 1300+' of vertical and 46 runs. There is definitely terrain for all levels but the majority of runs are for intermediate skiers. There is only one high speed quad, but it services the whole mountain and rarely has lines exceeding 5 minutes.
If you are looking for a family friendly, smaller mountain or want a change from Stratton, Bromley is a nice place to ski. It's not fancy, but the runs were fun and the lift lines were not bad, even on a holiday weekend.
Bromley is a great family mountain. The terrain is challenging enough for all abilities and aproacheble enough so that you never feel out of control. The snowmaking and grooming are top notch and the staff, from the ticket office, to the repair shop were nothing short of great. The guys at the repair shop fixed my son's binding, replaced a worn screw and tightened everything up, for no charge. Boot rentals were less expensive than at local(MA) mountains and the guys manning the lifts helped my kids on and off of the lifts, keepeing everyone safe and happy.
The customer service was a nightmare. Someone took my friend's board (rented from an independent shop) off of the rack while we were having lunch, leaving a nearly identical Bromley rental board next to it. Bromley refused to call the person who had rented the nearly identical board, even though no one came to claim it for the remainder of the day (validating our suspicions). We spent that entire afternoon, evening, and night stressed out about my friend's stolen board because Bromley refused to call one of their customers to clear up a simple mistake. They would not lift a finger to help us. My friend did not have much money so he really didn't want to have to pay for his board. Fortunately the board turned up the next day, and we had to drive back to Bromley even though we were headed to Stratton. We will never return to Bromley. They turned a great day into a terrible one.
We chose the SkiVermont pass for first timers and it was so reasonable. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful. Walking with us to each location, helping us get on boots and teaching us how to "walk", etc. But best of all was our very experienced instructor, Harold. He was terrific. We noticed there were lots of kids, young people but even a "senior" club type group as well. Later we visited the more 'professionally done and expensive" Stratton and found it lovely and larger but for us, it is Bromley all the way.
Nice slopes for skiing and snowboarding. We came here with some family in the hopes of better slopes than we found last year, and we definitely loved it. The all day pass for the lifts are only $40 and equipment rental was reasonably priced as well. The slopes were a little icy in some areas, but you can never predict when/where that will happen. Luckily the following day they got 4-6 inches of snow, so that probably helped out some.
Bromley goes out of their way to cater to a family oriented crowd. We skied with our kids age 2, 4, 6 and the experience was very positive from renting all of the equipment to skiing on the mountain to eating lunch in their caf. Just a great overall experience and the kids had a ball for being first time skiers!
This is a great family vacation destination. Winter skiing is definitely big mountain terrain with plenty of snow making and wide variety of trails top to bottom. And it is very family friendly--kids/grandkids can ski with the parents/grandparents or roam on their own. In the summer there is the Alpine Slide--call it a glide--zip line, water slide and a few other climbing treats in one of the most scenic areas of Vermont. And nearby Towns of Weston and Manchester offer the finest local flavors of anywhere in northern New England.
