A little bit of Downton Abbey in Alliance, Ohio. Tour guide was great, place is beautiful and well maintained. Great grounds for events like car shows, and art shows.

When I called the phone number for this Castle, it indicated that the school board used it and it only gave options to talk to bus garage, administration, and other school related offices. When I visited the Web site, there was nothing about being able to tour the site. So 5 of us went to visit the Glamorgan Castle as a group on Saturday morning. The outside looks very impressive. Everything was locked up. I still do not know if you can get in during the week or when at all? From the parking lot, no signs indicated you could go inside and visit it. Obviously they do not promote that part of this location.

My friend and I made a scouting trip here to see if our ladies group would enjoy a visit to Alliance in the Spring. We were blown away it was so beautiful. The woodwork, carvings, lighting fixtures, stained glass windows, crystal chandeliers, marble staircase, domed and lighted ceiling. Wow. A Docent gave us the history of the castle on our tour. We are excited to share this with our group,

Glamorgan Castle is now the administrative offices for the Alliance City School System. Sad in a way. Mr Morgan started Morgan Engineering and so many of my ancestors & relatives worked there. Definitely take the tour (call ahead). They still have memorabilia from Morgan Engineering.

My sister and I visited Glamorgan Castle and toured the grounds. We found the place easily enough and there was ample parking. We walked around the castle and then down the trails (front lawn) to the 3 ponds with fountains. We did not attempt to enter the building. The location was well maintained.

This is a great historic landmark in Alliance, tours are offered throughout the year...they have a great front yard to take the kid to play catch. Nice piece of property

My sisters and niece (friends) put Glamorgan Castle on our list of things to do for "Girls' Day Out."Though I have lived in the area for almost 3 decades I never knew it existed. What a treatto learn about the construction of this lovely home (1904). It cost $400,000 to build and yetwas later sold for only $25,000 during the Depression. Guided tours are given on specific days at$5/person. If you are interested in historic homes, you will be amazed by this place. Picturesallowed. Children are welcome, but very young children (under school age) would have adifficult time of being entertained. I always look for gift shops in museums to take some history home with me, but there is not one here. That was a little disappointing. However, the tour was fantastic - esp. for the price of admission.
