This tour was very informative re: Pres. Harding and his family. Our tour guides were very, very knowledgeable. Pres. Harding is not a well known President and this would be a very good reason to tour his home and then take the short drive to his Memorial.

Knowledgeable tour guide made it interesting. We loved sitting on the front porch while he explained how Harding campaigned for the office of the president from that very spot. It was worth the small fee.

President Warren Harding is not the subject of a lot of books or attention. But he was a President. This house will help you understand who he was, how he became President and what he accomplished as President. He is not one of the great ones but his home is worth a stop

Growing up in Marion, I had been to the Harding Home on a school trip in the 70's and with my daughter's scout troop in the 90's. When I went this summer it was run even better than before. The 40 minute tour does not require reservations. However, it is not open 24/7 so call or google to make sure you don't arrive after tours have stopped.The guides seem to be able to answer any question posed and delved into the back stories of the family members and the memorabilia in an in-depth way which brought the Hardings alive.Harding's letters to his mistress have been in the news recently so the tour was better attended than I had anticipated.

This was not a planned visit. Since it was a holiday, my guy and I literally got in the car and just ended up in Marion. I'd been to the Memorial on a past visit to the city but had the Harding home on my to do list. The tour started in a small building that was referred to as the shack. We watched a short video inside the shack. The building was used as a press house for the press to set up. Harding went there twice a day to answer press questions. Then we received a guided tour of the Harding home. We started on the porch where we were told stories of the many speeches he gave on his front porch. Inside we were not permitted to take any photos. That was kind of sucky. My guy is a carpenter and loves to take photos of old furniture for inspiration. I also enjoy taking a photo here and there for my blogs. So that was a little disappointing. Other than that we enjoyed the tour. The guide was full of interesting information and was even aware of what was authentic to the home and what was added as props. I was impressed with the large amount of authentic items in the home which was mostly everything. I felt like I traveled back in time. I also left feeling like I knew my 29th president and his wife personally. It is a place that EVERY Ohioan should visit if they get the chance.

While preservationists will be aghast at how items are being conserved, the house is a time capsule almost frozen in time from President Harding's death. Since his widow died shortly thereafter and willed the house as a museum, it is amazingly intact to how it would have appeared when the Harding’s lived here.

My wife and I visited the Harding Home and Memorial on Saturday, August 2, 2014. We had a wonderful time in the little museum and watching the great movie! So much history to take in. Then we toured the home, led by our tour guide, Brett. he was very knowledgeable and could answer almost any question. He made the whole experience very interesting and informative. I would highly recommend a stop here on your travels.

This site was the latest stop in my travels around Ohio. I started my visit in the outbuilding which was built during the campaign. It has been converted into a small museum about Harding's background, political career, and time as president. The exhibits are brief but informative- I learned a great deal about Harding in just a few minutes. There is also a short orientation film. From there I proceeded to the front porch- the site of Harding's campaign in 1920. For the next forty-five minutes I was escorted on a top notch tour through the house, learning more about Harding's career and family. Something very exceptional about this house are the number of actual artifacts owned by Harding that are on display, even a comb with his hair still on it. I enjoyed this presidential house a ton and learned a lot during the visit. Highly recommended- also make sure to visit the Harding tomb about a mile and a half away.

Ohio has its share of Presidential homes, museums and tombs. We stopped at this one for a tour on our way back from Columbus. The home is beautifully preserved. It appears the Harding family just locked the door one day and left everything there. Almost all of the items displayed in the home are original to the family. The museum only briefly touches on the scandals that marked Harding's Presidency and not at all on his personal scandals. But, you do learn a great deal about his upbringing and his love for Marion, OH. Certainly worth a visit. Our guide was very knowledgeable.

I didn't know much about my fellow Ohioan - President Warren Harding, but I do now! An excellent tour with the original furnishings in his home, and all the more interesting when lead by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable young guide! The fee was only $7 ($6 for seniors and AAA members) and definitely worth it.

This site is very authentic for history buffs. The guide was knowledgeable and easily answered our questions. The Harding Burial Site is not far away and worth the extra drive. Take the "boulevard" for a scenic drive between the home and the tomb.

When I was growing up, we were told that Harding, who worked himself up in life, was a failure as a president. The museum, and even more our tour guide, tell a different story. He was a success in that most of his campaign program was adopted into law during his 2½ years in the White House, his administration was racked with scandals which became apparent to him just before his death. Whether, had he lived, he would have covered up or cleaned house is one of the great unknowns in history. Beautiful house, and even more interesting is the story of his wife, Florence, who was disinherited by her father for getting married twice (Harding being the second) without his approval. If you are in the area, see it.

While in Marion, Ohio, visiting our daughter & family, we visited the Warren G. Harding home and Tomb. There is a fee to tour the inside of the home, but no fee for the Tomb. We did not go inside home. The home was built in 1891, it's front porch replaced in 1903. The Tomb is built of white Georgia marble. Harding was elected U.S. President in 1920.

We made an appointment for a tour of the Harding House before coming to Ohio. Our tour guide was wonderful. She spent lots of time with us and we learned so much. The home is fantastic and it was amazing to see so many authentic pieces from the Harding Family and the time period. This stop is a must for presidential history buffs! We especially enjoyed the video which was very professional and well researched.
