I love the historic beauty of this theatre. Such a special feel in here. However being an old theatre the seats are small and there is no leg room, even being a petite woman. It has a nice intimate feel and all the seats have nice views but unfortunately I still think twice about going to shows here.
The Victoria is one of Dayton's best historic landmarks. My first experience was as a teenager during the 1970's attending rock shows prior to its restoration. The current theater is very beautiful and well-maintained. I attended the recent production of Smokey Joe's Cafe and sat in the lower balcony. The leg room can be very cramped (I am 6' 5" tall) but we had seats in the fifth row which had a railing and walkway in front instead of another seat. I was very comfortable. The view was also excellent; much closer to the stage than the loge or balcony seats at the Schuster Center.
We have long enjoyed the Victoria Theater as a first rate venue for stage productions. However, our recent visit to the companion Loft Theater was our first. As amateur actors we were struck by the amphitheater style seating resting at the edge of the half moon style stage. Our comfortable, front row seats nearly placed us in the midst of the production of the enduring, "Mame". Outstanding acoustics and lighting balanced by an inviting lobby, gift shop, and food area. The volunteer staff was amiable and accommodating. Can't wait until we return again.
We have been to several concerts/shows here. I love the intimate setting!! Especial at a concert! Great venue!!
My grandson was in a performance. Felt like stepping back in time in the historical theater. that is it no more to say - stop requiring me to enter 50 characters if you want me to continue to participage in reviews
This theater is a beautiful setting and still has many great shows to attract locals and visitorsyou should go!
I love the Victoria theater, there is really not a bad seat in the house. I often attend musicals and plays at this venue and the only real drawbacks are that parking is about 2 blocks away and that the aisles are narrow so you sometimes feel like you are on top of the person in front of you (especially if you decide to cross your legs at all). That being said you and the person you are on top of (lol) both get a great view of the show and the theater itself is beautiful and well kept.
What a treasure they have in the downtown area of Dayton. This theatre has an amazing & tragic history but it's still going strong. Worth a visit!
The little diner before the show was fast, friendly, and had good food for a reasonable price. The theatre was beautiful and I doubt there's a bad seat in there. It was a wonderful experience.
This theatre has a smaller seating area than the Schuster theatre. Both have a great variety of shows including family shows.
We attended the production of "It's A Wonderful Life: Radio Show." Unless there is a snow emergency declared they go on with the show. There were many empty seats, but we were so happy we went. It was a perfect way to get into the spirit of Christmas. Please note, the seats are older, and therefore smaller. PLEASE don't wear perfume. Otherwise, it is a wonderful venue.
I love the architecture in the Victoria. The staff is helpful and many are volunteers which tells you how much people enjoy the programs here. Smaller than other theaters in area, gives one a homey feeling. Great view not matter where you sit in the theater. Would love to see more events here!
Went to a concert. Very nice decor and good acoustics. Sitting in the balcony it still felt like we were sooo close!
While visiting my daughter in OH over the holidays, we had the pleasure of seeing Fiddler at this fantastic venue. It's small enough you can see and hear excellently from any seat in the house. I would definitely go back again. The whole Schuster Center is a great area.
We went to a concert here. Being my first time at this venue, I was totally impressed with how beautifully this grand, old building has been restored. I am excited about seeing more entertainment being held in this theater.
