Great place for a concert! Columbus is a great city to visit and I have been to the Schottenstein for many events.
Very nice arena. Better than most I have seen for NHL and NBA. Snack prices are pretty low. Parking was free for the Ohio State hockey game. I don't know about other types of events.
Hreat facility to watch Buckeye Hockey. The staff is always really friendly. Snacks are tasty and they run fun promotions. One tip: they only allow beer to be purchased and consumed on the second level. They consider ice level to be a family area. The upsode is that the second level os not as crowded and most of the time the ushers will just let you sit where you want.
Wonderful place to see our Buckeyes win; great viewing from all the sears. Parking and transportation are remarkably easy for a venue of this size.
My friend and I, along with our 4 adult kids, went to the Schott for my first Bball game there. Loved it, and a great venue for viewing the game, even though our seats weren't the greatest. Bring binoculors if you sit far away to see the game better. Have wanted to go to the Schott for 4 years, and finally got there for the gave vs Indiana.... and WE WON! GO BUCKS!
Easy access, plenty of restrooms. The floor can be viewed from any seat. Giant screens give you close up views of the events.
The venue is easy to get around in and the parking for the concert was very well organized and policed effeciently. We parked in the lost the farthest away and rode the shuttle busses to and from the arena but we go right out of the parking lot and onto Route 315 quickly.
Easy to get to, although the parking is a bit of pain. The arena has you park half way to Cleveland and then they bus to the arena. It works, but kind of a pain. The arena itself if beautiful and for the events of hockey, basketball or concerts it is excellent. The big drawback is on the food service which is very limited, but understandably so...so eat before you go or be prepared to have a hot dog (very fairly priced) and cardboard pizza and of course the obligatory popcorn, soft drinks..no alcohol remember on campus. Tickets are very fair for the OSU Hockey games.....the seating in the area is intimate and really no bad seats....
Love to attend any event here. Concerts, sporting events are all such a nice time. The concessions are friendly, and move quickly. The restrooms are always clean.Sound system has always been great for all co cents.
I have seen many concerts and many OSU Basketball games at the "Schott". The beer is a little pricey but you have to expect that at any arena.
took 10 business associates to a Buckeyes basketball game. This was kind of an early season game so we got good seats at a good price. The game was great. Food was okay, not exciting. No beer at these games unfortunately. Park down Lane Ave by the practice hockey arena-good price and easy in and out.
It was an early game so the buses were thin otherwise a good system for parking and shuttling. Love the free Big Macs for the score of the game. I just wish they served beer!
I recently attended a concert at The Schott. The event was sold out, but the abundance of parking lots and staff to direct people kept things moving nicely. We sat in the "Terrace" Level, which is a nice name for the Upper Bowl. The seating here is tight, and if you are bothered by heights, like many of the people around me were, you will not be happy. But the view was excellent, and the accoustics are good. And when they finally turned the AC on, the stuffiness of that upper region cleared quickly. And surprisingly, we got out of the building, to my truck, and out of the lot with surprisingly little fuss.
I have been here for many events--sporting and concerts. The trouble with this venue, as opposed to the superior Nationwide Arena, is the upper level seating. It is way too far from the floor, as the upper deck does not overhang the lower as it does at Nationwide Arena. Avoid upper bowl seating. It is a decent concert venue, though there were problems with a moving video screen at the James Taylor concert. The facility itself is beautiful No expense was spared and the trazzo floors featuring famous OSU athetes is spectacular. But you don't come here for that--you come for an event. Take my advice. Get lower bowl seats.
Just saw the Cirque du Soleil Michael Jackson Immortal World Tour here and loved it! Easy access, parking was simple and directed very well. I would definitely see another show here!
