Going to see the Nutcracker is an annual family tradition. First with my children and now with my grandchildren. It wouldn't be the Holiday Season without it. The performances are always outstanding.
Tulsa Ballet is located in downtown Tulsa in the PAC (Performing Arts Center) building on the corner of 2nd St and Cininnati Ave. Tulsa Ballet performances are utterly fantastic and a thrilling excuse to get dressed up for a night on the town. Tulsa Ballet is widely-acclaimed for both its director of productions as well as its Board of Directors that work tirelessly to ensure the best productions in the country are available for Tulsans. Don't be surprised by the appearance of tuxedos, diamonds and pearls - denim is every bit as welome.p.s. the PAC is literally surrounded on all sides by myriad night spots perfect for a nightcap, wildly loose dancing and delicious dining.
The production was first rate. My grandaughter love everything abiut the production except the Rolls Royce. Well worth the trip and the excitement of a young girl
Studio Creations as well as all of their performances are amazing. I'm thankful Tulsa has such a strong Ballet studio--it is such a nice evening to attend a performance. So much talent here.
I have watched many Tulsa Ballet shows. The Nutcracker is good and my favorite was Dracula. Tulsa Ballet II is also a good show.Awesome family fun!
World Class Ballet company. You wont believe the amazing artists and the staff we are blessed with here in Tulsa at Tulsa Ballet Company. International Ballet company... Resident choreographers and amazing young and seasoned artsits. DO Not miss this company...
As a season ticket holder for about fourteen years I am constantly amazed at the talent of this company. It's a Tulsa treasure
This is the only ballet I have attended this year. I have been a season ticket holder in the past, but finances vary. They did an exceptional job. I am not very familiar with the music, but loved it. Tulsa has some wonderful dancers. The second ballet performed was Ravel's "Bollero". While the staging and costume designs didn't match what I have always seen in my head, they were good and did go with the choreography (I have never seen that in my head. I see it as a combination Picasso's blue period and bull fighting.)I would recommend attending if you get a chance.
My grand daughter and I saw the Nutcracker Ballet and loved every minute of it. It's very worth seeing! Tickets are a bit pricey if you sit close. It's a Christmas tradition with the Tulsa Ballet and is one that everyone should see sometime in their life!
Tulsa has a ballet company that would be the pride of a much larger city. Its history is rich, connected to one of the remarkable Native American ballerinas from Oklahoma who graced New York and other stages in the mid-20th century. I saw a rep of innovative new works which were beautiful. satisfying, and superbly danced. If you're in Tulsa, check to see if these remarkable artists are performing and go to see them!
They are exquisite. Artistic and technically perfect. I absolutely love watching them. I have never been disappointed
We love the Ballet. Everything that we have seen was simply amazing. Dracula, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake.
My husband took me to see the Nutcracker. I love ballet and the Tulsa performance was outstanding. Had a great time!
Secured tickets to the nutcracker for my family, including in laws and small children, during a week long visit to Tulsa. Exceeding expectations for performance and facility. Booster seats for kids were a HUGE bonus and not offered at all theaters around the country. Big plus for that.Snack lines and bathroom lines were excessively long but that is always to be expected at big shows. Snack options were very limited and very few healthy options if any. There were photo ops with characters in the lobby prior to the performance and that was a very nice touch for the little ones. Amenities aside, the theater, orchestra and performers were the best I have seen for the Nutcracker. The audience was a bit tame (perhaps due to the matinee showing) but there were several times when I felt like being UP on my feet...the performance was that good! Will not hesitate to see it again next year. BRAVO!
I've attended multiple Tulsa Ballet performances and they are always beautifully imagined, performed and orchestrated. The facility is well-designed for enjoying performances, comfortable, elegant and altogether adds to the experience. Free parking can be a challenge, but remember you're downtown and enjoy the urban-ness of it all. Take an extra $10 or $20 (if you want to park really close) and pay for one of the close-by event parking lots. Wine is available via cash bar in the lobby.
