The Folin Winery is located out in the Sam’s Valley a few miles from Gold Hill. The family winery produces some of the best wines in the valley and particularly their Tempranillo wine. The place is worth the drive because the facility is modern, friendly and provides the visitor a penthouse view of the tank room which is interesting to watch during the harvest season. Either Liza or Keven will be available to guide you through the tastings of five of their finest wines. They are delightful, friendly and knowledgeable about the industry. On a nice day, my family enjoys taking a picnic to the winery and having a bottle of wonderful wine at one of the tables in their garden. If you haven’t thought ahead, Liza usually has a snack box available for purchase that includes bread, cheese, and assorted items that will be complemented by their award winning wines.

This is a friendly smaller winery. Meat and cheese is available to go with your glass or bottle to sit out outside and relax with the scenery.
