This is a great vineyard in the Applegate Valley which sits on the Applegate River. Been there a few times and will go many more. Wine is great and so is the food. Plenty of seating area even if many people are visiting it the venue.
We had rented a car and in my estimation that is the way to go to this area. We made a day out of driving through this beautiful, quiet rural area and came upon this lovely winery by the river. They have picnic tables right by the river with weeping willows surrounding the area. There is wine tasting and they are known for their red wines like Merlots. It is a very smooth, robust wine. We brought a few bottles home and everyone liked the wine. I liked the atmosphere as well.
Atmosphere is wonderful. Food is awesome. Wine is excellent. Will go back again and again. Outdoor seating or indoor. Small groups or large. They are very accomodating.
Charming grounds right on the Applegate River. It was a beautiful fall day and they had the fireplace going so we could even sit on the patio. In warm weather there are chairs all along the River bank. We had fun tasting their wines (love Lily Girl Rose) and then had a giant tray of cheeses and breads to snack on. Brie, cheddar, olives, hummus, plus carrot-coconut soup...Yum.
I would go to see the winery, sit on the banks of the river and relax with....wine I bring from home. Wines lack depth and taste very young. Maybe in time they will age, but until then, just have a glass of their Champagne.
This winery's is a must visit when in Jacksonville area. The tables by the creek are a tranquil setting to enjoy family, great wine and delicious food. The Caesar salad had to be the best I have ever eaten.
As I am not a big fan of wine (shocking I know), this was my first ever visit to a winery, and I was very pleased to discover that you don't need to be a wine lover to enjoy all the beauty and atmosphere that wineries have to offer! We actually went to more than one winery in Jacksonville, but Red Lily was definitely my favorite. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend this as a must see destination in Jacksonville for wine drinkers or non- wine drinkers alike!
Beautiful setting, awesome decor and design, very nice wine! Thursday night summer concerts! What is not to like!
We were here for a wedding. The grounds and location are amazing. The wine and food were good, but the customer service could have been better. The first day we were there, the food took quite awhile and people who came in behind us got their food before us. It seemed like they knew the staff and were served quickly because of it. The worst incident was on the second day we were there, the day of the wedding. We didn't get her name, but a female staff member with very short hair was very rude when my wife and her friend asked if they could get some food. She said they were closing because of the wedding. They explained to her they were in the wedding and had been there for a few hours, helping the bride get ready, so hadn't been able to order food until then. The kitchen was not supposed to close until 3:00pm and it was about 2:50pm when they asked. She very rudely said if she did it for them she would have to do it for everyone and suggested they drive somewhere before the wedding started if they wanted to eat. They ended up having to wait until the reception, a few hours later to eat. The staff should definitely be more accommodating, especially for a wedding party.
We spent a relaxing Mother's day here at the Vineyard. We enjoyed the wonderful wine while the kids played Frisbee and splashed in the creek. The hummus and fruit plate was a great addition to our picnic.
Great food and wine, amazing location and wonderful staff. We had a great time wine tasting here and eating lunch. The grounds are fabulous and you can enjoy your vino on the river if you so choose!
The setting is beyond beautiful. The wine is very good. Don't hesitate to order food from the small menu..it has all been excellent. All in all, a visit to Red Lilly is a lovely experience.
I have not been able to visit Red Lily yet myself, but as the editor of the Southern Oregon Artists Resource and close friend of metal artist Cheryl D. Garcia, I have to say I deeply respect their commitment to exhibiting the work of local artists. Cheryl is an amazing metal artist who creates wall art and large sculptures from reclaimed metal, and Red Lily has a number of her large works on display in and around their gorgeous tasting room, notably a huge red Bolander's lily which they commissioned her to create for them. The winery is located in a beautiful part of the Applegate Valley (just outside Jacksonville proper but inside Jville's area code). Cheryl is a big fan of their wines and I respect her tastes in everything, so I would recommend Red Lily as a great place for cultural travelers to explore the wines, scenery and locally produced art of southern Oregon. If your timing gives you the good fortune to attend an artist reception when Cheryl brings new work for them to show, so much the better since you will get to meet the artist!
Lovely setting, pleasant hostess. Many good wines but Verdejo was our choice. We ordered a cheese and meat plate to share and it was more than ample for four of us.... only $16. Can't think of a better way to wile away a few hours in an afternoon.
At Red Lily, we strive to provide all of our guests with a positive experience. As part of that effort, we welcome customers and their dogs, though we do require that dogs be kept on a leash at all times. Even the best trained dog may sometimes get excited and jump on someone, or cause other problems. The customer in question was visiting Red Lily and brought along their dog. However, they did not have their dog on a leash. Our manager observed this and politely informed the customer of our leash policy, as well as the reasons why. Unfortunately, the customer became agitated and left the premises, stating that he would write a negative online review. We sincerely apologize if the customer felt the request for his dog to be leashed was unfair, or was communicated in a rude or arrogant manner. Anyone who knows the manager would know she is neither of those things.
