I love going to this place because you get to see two movies for an amount cheaper than one movie at the movie theater, awesome snacks and food, good drink prices, outside and really comforting.
I've gone here many times, and I love it. For $7 a person, you get two movies. Much better deal than the theater in walla walla. Just watch their website for what's playing next. Get there early for a good parking spot, and don't forget to let your engines run in between so your car battery can charge! A lot of families with small kids will leave after the first show, or sometimes during the middle of a movie.... which I hate. At least drive with your parking lights so you don't wreck everyone's night vision. One time when we went, they couldn't get the second movie going, which was annoying, but eventually they just announced that you could use your tickets again for another night, which was a pretty sweet deal! I'm so glad the management is dedicated to keeping one of the few drive in theaters in the area open!
The pizza here is top notch! Don't know if they offer this but I wonder if you can get a take out pizza here without watching the movie? (Hint, Hint, LOL) Love movies but really love the Pizza!
Not sure how many drive in theaters exist in the world but this is the only one I know of. Make sure you take your girl or your kids here for an experience they will fondly remember.
Great place to take family or your best girl. There are so few drive in movie theaters any more and it is a shame. You can take the family and spend some quality time. Perfect for a young family with baby because the crying will not bother the next car over!
How can you not enjoy this place, it's one of the only one around in who knows how many radius. It's just good old family fun!!! I remember when i was a child and my parents would take us for some good old family fun, and now I take my children. My oldest sometimes does't even care what is showing she just goes for the Greatest homemade Pizza but of corese it was all I ate when I was pregnant with her ha ha ha what coincidence. The faimly that ownes it are the greatest!
Every summer for many years now my family had made multiple visits to the drive-in in Milton-Freewater. It's a family run operation, and it's a fun way to watch a movie wrapped up in a blanket in your most comfortable folding chair under the stars. They always show a double feature. Though they charge by the person (not by the car), the rate is still much better than the typical multiplex -- especially if you stay for both films. The lot is nothing fancy, but the atmosphere is always fun with children running around and everyone having a good time. If you come on a Friday night, be sure to get there early for a good parking spot up front. The theater is open Friday through Wednesday during the summer (closed Thursday) and in the spring and fall they are open Friday through Sunday when the weather allows.
So this is your average drive-in. NOt terrible; not great. I find the screen kind of dim and hard to see; especially when the first show starts.Positives are that they always have 2 shows.
At $6/person for a double feature, this is a very good bargain! M-F isn't the most exciting place in the world, and this is one of the best things to do!
I remember going to the drive-in when I was a little girl. So when I heard that there was a drive-in in Milton Freewater playing two great family films, we jumped on the opportunity. Although we live a little more than an hour away, it was well worth the drive! Milton-Freewater Drive-In is located on the right hand side of highway 11 on the way into town (if you are coming from Walla Walla). Gates opened at 8 p.m. and the movie began around 9 p.m. We were sure to get in line early so that we could choose a prime spot. (If there is a brand new movie, you may want to get there even earlier). The cost is $6 per adult and $1 per child for two feature films. They showed Kung Fu Panda 2 and Cars 2 when we were there. The audio for the movie is found on both an a.m. and an f.m. channels giving us great sound for the movies. I was worried that we may need a jump at the end of the night and voiced this to the owner. He said he would give us a jump if our battery ran low, but fortunately, everything was fine. Many of the younger children opted to play on the grassy area just under the big screen before the movie started, and between films to get their energy out. There is a concession area to purchase goodies and they take cash (and check I believe). They ask that no outside food or drink be brought into the drive-in. I think that this policy is fair considering that two feature films are offered in a fun, family atmosphere at a great price. We had a great time and will be returning soon!
