Course doesn't justify a 5 star rating with Quarry Oaks so close, but, it sure doesn't warrant below a 3 star either. Fun course to play, nice views, and challenging. Quarry is for sure a better course, but, Iron Horse probably has some better holes and can be in better condition (especially once the summer heats up in July/August.) It's a little cheaper than Quarry Oaks and is probably easier to play for the beginning golfer. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area. I would choose this course over almost any other public course in Lincoln/Omaha area. Also, ask about their twilight special on weekends.

The course was in excellent shape. The quarry lake provides this course with ample water to keep everything green in light of the dry weather we've had in the mid-west. I met the pro and the superintendent and both shared some insights to the course. The pro shop was stocked.

I really do like this course. It's a fun and challenging course for most golfers, though not at all for a beginner or someone who plays sparingly. If you don't bring your "A" game, you will run out of golf balls. I don't think that any of the holes are too gimmicky, they just make you put away your driver and play to a spot. The scenery is a big bonus and there are lots of elevation changes and blind shots. Don't be afraid to drive ahead to get an idea where to hit, it will be well worth your time. Most people think I 80 though Nebraska is a flat straight line from Iowa to Colorado. For those that enjoy golf and appreciate immaculate course conditions and scenery you need to stop and play. Will test any skill level and will give you vistas unique only to this part of the state. Upscale and affordable. Service, staff and clubhouse will make your golf day a pleasant experience regardless of the number you put on you card at the 19th hole!Which by the way overlooks a spring fed lake that was once a large quarry.

This piece of ground was just never meant to hold an 18 hole golf course. There are some decent holes, but #10 is just not a fair hole. You don't design a par 5 with that small of a landing are for a driveThen you have an even tougher 2nd shot for your layup. The course is pleasing to the eye, but too gimicky for me. I'll play it again if I have to, but won't go out of my way to play it.

The front nine of this well maintained course is fairly short and not too difficult. Good thing, because starting on No. 10, you'd better buckle up. Great views, great condition. Friendly staff.
