a great place to see and learn about fish of Nebraska. Easy access and surrounded by beautiful Schramm Park.

This is a smaller aquarium but it is so educational. I did not know Nebraska's waterways and lakes had such a wide variety of interesting fish. There are several hands on activities for family members of all ages. Nice hiking trails to see nature up close and personal. We enjoyed our lunch at one Of the several picnic tables. The hatchery in right next door and worth a visit too

Lots of hands on activities, a scavenger hunt and of course the aquarium. This is not a Zoo. The exhibits all deal with native birds, animals and habitat of the Midwest. Live fish on exhibit. Impressive specimens of sturgeon, carp, catfish, trout, etc. This is the best place to teach local nature watching and identification of species to young kids. Adults will learn some new things too! Admission is $1.00. kids .50. Don't forget to walk out to the state fish hatchery next door. .50 buys a handful of fish food, which the Carp and Trout will put on a show to get at! Lovely landscaping and lots to look at on a sunny afternoon.

JMJ This is a small aquarium but it is also a great hands-on nature museum. Many preserved specimens of the animals and fish native to Nebraska ( or Aksarben which is Nebraska backwards). So much to learn that you should allow some time for adults or children to experience this place. Also binoculars available for bird watching and identification. Pack a lunch and enjoy more of Schramm Park State Recreation area, including the fish hatchery! We also drove nearby and saw a llama and a herd of cows and sometimes you can find wild turkeys..So close to Omaha yet so removed from the city life and lights! There is a $1 fee for adults and a .50 fee for children 6-12yrs old. Where can you see so much for $1?!
