Perched on top a little hill, with great views. Rich in history, well kept grounds. Often you'll get to see Deer walk about. It is well worth your time.

I just love this old cemetery. I am not sure of the spelling! Fun to visit old town Columbia and then walk up to the school house and this cemetery. You can even google some of the deceased and read about their history. Drive to the top of the hill and just park right outside of the gate and off of the road. Then just walk in and stroll around.

If you visit the old school house the cemetery is next door. Slightly different to UK cemeteries as the plots are larger with relatives laid side by side. There are some interesting writing on some headstones. It's a quite shaded place.

Wandered through this cemetery with my German relatives and they were fascinated by the number of German immigrants interred there. In fact, my cousin took photos that she is going to share with some German genealogists back home. The cemetery is certainly well cared for and is like looking through a window back in time. Just to see the dates on the tombstones and think about these people and what it took to leave their somewhat comfortable lives and venture into the unknown is amazing.

I am so glad that this cemetery has been maintained and preserved. Amazing that it is not in its original location either.

Sounds crazy to walk through an old cemetery, but I find them fascinating! I enjoy looking at the dates of the early pioneers. It is very peaceful, and a relaxing place to walk in the early morning.

I took the tour that Columbia offers and stumbled upon the cemetery by the old 1850's school. At first It seamed like any other old cemetery who, when, and maybe how. But after awhile I caught myself crying at what I was reading. It wasn't just the basics but a true account of a hole family's life, loves, and what became of that family. I found out that almost all of the original family's are still around. I was able to talk to a few members of these family's. The stories they told me had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I've never experienced a town like Columbia California and probably never will again. Instead of visiting Columbia I'm truly thinking of moving there.
