Kimballs East, Emeryville Ca. A friend and I went to see a local oldies group (Lakeside). First the show was a to start at 8:00pm. The show didn't start until 8:35 pm, with (no) apology as to why the show was late, or we will be starting soon!!!!. There was a crowd there and the people were starting to get upset. My friend had called early to see if there was to be a dance floor open(he was informed that there would be,which it wasn't. We went to sit on the main floor and was informed that "we (had to) buy drinks down here in the pit" all we wanted at the time was to have water with the meal we had ordered!!!no good we cancled our food order. I went to speak to the manager at the end of the show and was told "he was busy". I had been going kimballs before, but this was the first time I had such (rude) service. I don't know if I will go back.

I've seen some great performances here - Angela Bofill, Jonathan Butler, Hiroshima and many more and always a great time with good seating and acoustic. Place is not too big and you feel very close to the action. Location is great for dining, try to eat at the Emeryville Market if the menu at the club is not to your liking.

Kimball's is a must-see for anyone visiting or residing in the bay area. The service is first-class ina relaxing atmosphere and the shows are alwaysexcellent with many choices of entertainers. Hopefully it will remain in Emeryville for a long, longtime.
