The Vineyard is located just East of I-15 in southern Escondido. The course is in good condition and the green fees are very reasonable compared to other courses in the area. There are several holes where water comes into play and there are nice views of the surrounding hills. The large greens have some undulations and there are quite a few sand bunkers to make it interesting. They have a nice driving range and a bar and restaurant.
$38 for a round, cart and lunch. Flat front 9, hilly and longer back 9. Some nice views and course in ok shape. Greens were quick, but fair. Had a very enjoyable day.
Under the photos I gave this course a 3. With this review I gave a 4. That averages, of course, 283.5 which is where the course belongs. If the fairways would have been in decent shape (difficult given the winter conditions and the amount of play), The course would have been worth a 4. The sand was in good shape and kept up. Holes 11 through 18 were worth the play. The cost was extremely reasonable.
Nice surroundings and well maintained course. Reasonable price. We were disappointed with the management of the pace of play. With a buggy started at 1pm and only just finished with barely any daylight to spare at 5:15pm which spoilt the enjoyment.
Reserved first tee time, but two groups had same time. No starter to settle the problem and get the groups off without an issue. Advised due to over-seeding, it was cart path only, so decided to walk. Groups in carts didn't adhere to the cart path only policy and no Marshals or Ambassadors to monitor the course. Made the turn at #10 to find two new groups ahead of us, seems they had a back side nine hole special that backed up play at the turn. A quick round of golf was going to be a 2:30 plus back nine. When advising an Ambassador of the situation, he just looked at me, giggled and kept on going without a word. We walked off after a 20 minute wait on #11 tee box, as well as other groups that followed later. My two cents worth....
This is a well kept golf course, busy, and challenging in all the right places. The facility is well equipped, has putting green, range balls and food. I recommend it.
Nice driving range, two practice greens, but the course is in average shape and the greens are just OK.
Great course layout, especially the back 9. Can be hot in the summer (play early) and the back 9 can get windy in the afternoons. But all in all a most enjoyable course. I would have rated it a 5 if the dining service was upgraded.
They do a horrible job sending people out, they dont care that your round might take five and half hours, and the attitude of the pro staff shop is just terrible......I have played here many times, but will not do so anymore.......they dont care
The Vineyard location is right off Hwy 15 which allows is access. The facilities are very good and the course is kept in good shape. Not particularly stunning, but a nice place to play.
Good course, challenging, nice views of surrounding homes and Orfila winery and vineyards...hence the name!!
This is a fun course. It is forgiving and pretty. I would give it a better review except that whenever I call to make a tee time, they tell me they have kept my credit card info and do I want to use it again. I have told them they cannot keep my info without my permission and I want it deleted. I spoke to the manager about this and he acted like he was unaware of them doing it. He told me he would delete my info but the next time I called, guess what- they still had it. As a result my group will no longer book there. Isn't this how Target got messed up?
Very solid course, it represents great value for money in nice surroundings. Cost me around 50 dollars including cart and was well worth it.
I like this course. It is well maintained and fun to play. The weekday price is pretty good and we have fun here. My only complaint is that the last time I called for a tee time I was asked if I want to use the same credit card as the last time to guarantee the tee time. I never gave them permission to keep my credit card number nor was I asked if that was okay. Not cool. I told the course manager how unhappy I was about that.
This course is interesting, and beautifully maintained. The practice facilities are very good. The staff is friendly. I walked on as a single and they made sure I got out promptly and with other golfers. Four hour round. Among the top muni's I have played. Good value, good time..........
