The public library in Escondido was giving out a free summer visit to the Children's Discovery Museum across from Grape Day Park and we thought it might be a fun diversion for the kids. So, we went and they were having a special Turkey related expo and letting the kids try out magnets, small shopping carts, giant building blocks, bubbles and costumes. There were a ton of moms with kids there.

A fun place to take children/grandchildren for adventure and education. Conveniently located across from Grape Day Park, fun for all!

This is a really fun museum for young kids and toddlers. They have a lot of different learning toys and activities. Big bubble wands, dry up, small kitchens for play, a ship with a slide, outdoor area with building toys and a arts and crafts area. There are so many different types of activities that I can remember them all. There were lots of kids to play with and Mom's and Dad's to talk and share with. I will for sure return with my grandsons and maybe buy the annual pass for Grandparents. Check it out if you have kids 12 months to 5.

My nieces (8 and 4) love this spot. My sons (5 and 1) appreciated it at least as much. Neither gender nor age was a barrier to enjoying the Children's Discovery Museum. The kids enjoyed blowing enormous bubbles/sets of bubbles outdoors. They also built huge bricmbased play structures, to share with other kids at the museum. The story time was good, but the related arts and crafts time was even better. There were other (experimental) stations available for kids to explore. As a science/engineering PhD and as a parent of 2 kids (5 &1), I felt this place was a great place for them to explore, to experiment, to create. Well done! Seriously, quite well done, in the infrastructure, the variations, the themes available for exploration. We could've come every day for a week without becoming bored. (Or less frequently, for a year! But we live >2000 miles away, so that wasn't a concern.)

We took our nearly 3 year old grand daughter to the museum. She was initially overwhelmed by everything there was to do. The museum was very busy that day too. Once she got used to the activity level she enjoyed herself. I think the next time she will love it. The kids that were a little older were having a wonderful time.

Lots of fun for children under 8 but leaves the older kids with little to do. We were there twice in June and the same book was read each time. Seems to me 2 different books could be read a day. Other than that it was fun time for all.

My grandchildren loved the interactive environment and the offerings of classes that are regularly offered. My 11 year old was not as excited as the 4 and 7 year old as the interactive items were more for younger children.

We enjoyed an afternoon at the Museum with our kids and our friends' family. We were able to keep the kids engaged for about two hours.

We have been to several children museums across the country and San Diego has one of the better ones. We've been here a few times and its always clean and things are working.

The museum does have quite a few "stations" but is overall pretty small. We went with our 4 and 6 year old boys. They were able to do all of the activities at the museum within a couple of hours. There were only a couple of activities that held the interest of my 6 year old. They have a nice outdoor area with several interesting exhibits as well, especially the garden area where they have a collection of herbs growing that you can touch and smell. There is also a nice outdoor park across the street. I think the activities at this museum are best for 2-4 year olds.

We visited the first time an instantly became members. The museum seems to always make the little ones run, interact, climb and be entertained. the changing exhibits always keep it fresh (although don't like the down time between changes as the museum closes). Great place to take the little kids.

It didn't have a lot of reviews when we decided to give the discovery museum a try. I am glad we did. It does have a lot of toys and play areas, which is good for 2yr olds like mine. What the other reviews don't highlight is all the learning activities they have mixed in with the toys. There is origami, large microscopes, building blocks of a half dozen types, and the Saturday that we went, they were dissecting their own owl scat and identifying what the owl ate. Yes that is right, my 2yr old got to do things I wasn't even able to do in school. To top it all off, if you are in the military like me, it is free all summer and only 3 dollars the rest of the year. Best place I have ever seen for young kids.

It is not a museum ... It is very small .. Has no special games or activities at all.. If I knew it was that bad, I would have gone to a park instead ...

A great hands on museum where the children and run and explore. So many things to touch and see. Easily spend the day,hd to limit it to the afternoon.
