What makes this place neat is that it's quiet and out of the way. I visited on a special occasion with a group of friends. The only tiny complaint is that the wine was way more expensive than the other nearby wineries we visited that same day. Also, the other two wineries did special things for our group to celebrate our special occasion, while Sycamore did not, and the other wineries had way better wine deals. I believe the wines from the three wineries were equivalent in both taste and quality. One winery in the neighborhood offered us 50% off a case pricing. The owner of yet another winery sang to us! Still I recommend Sycamore and a visit would be worthwhile. You just don't get that VIP treatment that you get at the other Morgan Hill wineries.

Note: everything here is "flat", no steps; so it's good for wheelchair or elderly access. One of our group had a cast on a leg, but had no problems.We "mature folks" showed up spontaneously with 18 cars from our German-car club on a quiet weekend winter day and the staff didn't even blink. The all-female staff coped well, and were helpful and cooperative. The brand-new modern picnic tables (a nice recent winery trend!) were put to good use by our group, with some tables to spare.We hope that this place stays small and out-of-the-way so that it continues to get a small number of dedicated wine enthusiasts. Only one white wine here (the Uvas Road regional emphasis is on big Italian-style reds, perhaps reflecting the ancestry of many of the owners), but that Chardonnay was well-received. Only free crackers for food that day. Clean restroom(s). Simple tasting room, inside the big fermenting "room". Down-to-earth and unpretentious; this is how wineries should feel. We would bring guests here.

We like big California reds, and Sycamore is now one of our favorite wineries. By all means join their wine club, they throw great parties a few times a year. We particularly like the '10 zinfandel and a merlot that is consistently good year after year. They have a nice picnic spot. it was particularly beautiful in the fall. Highl recommended
