I took my boys and we had a little fun while shopping on the train and carousel. Watching their faces as they rode the free rides next to Jelly Belly and then heading to the great park in the center of the complex was great! It only costed 10 dollars for all three of us to ride the carousel and train! What a great memory!
Visited here several times and I never thought of it as a place a tourist would visit. There are tons of shops but nothing that's exciting to visit, or unique. Just your basic chain stores. There is a lot of new places currently being constructed which means more stores and more traffic. Honestly I can't wait for some of the new restaurants to open cause they are new to me even if they are chain stores. It is easy to get too on and off the highway and again easy to get back on the highway if you were driving thru. Tons of places to eat at, and even a small play area for the kids. Good pit stop and visit. Living locally we are here all the time.
We shop here more than the other malls. It is a good place to find things you like. Many teenagers go here. When they go here, it usually means there are a lot of selections. It isn't as busy as the outlet mall, and I like the quiet.
There are several restaurant choices and some activities for the young kids. With teens, it was about shopping. We enjoyed our stay and I found something unique for my house. Even though it was not the same place I traveled to as a kid with an airport in the back, it was familiar enough to bring back many memories.
We stayed in Vacaville for some much needed R&R and throughout our stay we saw a lot of Vacaville, and i must say this is a cute small-feeling town which i really enjoyed! My family and I went to the Nut Tree and spent lots of money but made even more memories! i love the little shops and the enviorment was just a happy one. I got to eat icecream and try on shoes come on thats almost every girls dream. Thank You Nut Tree in Vacaville for the memories.
If you remember the original Nut Tree, it is hard to see what has happened and been taken down. If you go to the new Nut Tree Plaza and view it as something new, without comparison to the original attraction, it is still a nice visit. The plaza has a park with various rides for the children. There is also a train ride, nowhere near as good as the original, and a carousel. I would note that the rides close early and when we got there, the rides were just closing. The girl at the desk said she could not be sure if she could see us a train ticket. Considering the ride only lasts a short while, I thought this was strange, especially considering I had two younger children with me. However, she asked the conductor who agreed to one more ride. Well, about 7-10 other people showed up. I think management should consider this and make it a policy if someone is there, just provide the attraction ride as it is so short. In this case, they had about 12 people at least ride the train one more time for the day. That is profit which would have been lost if the conductor had followed the ticket agents lead. I can recommend this attraction for kids, just don't think about how great the original Nut Tree was or you will not enjoy it as much.
We stopped here between the Bay Area and Lake Tahoe. My toddler enjoyed the train ride. It was a very small train ride that went around the circle of the plaza twice, but for only $2 per person it was worth it. Definitely not something I would target as a day trip with the Fam, but a good place to stop if driving by with a toddler.
My friend tells they used to sell various nuts from a simple stand....he was quite surprised by the changes. Of course he is in his 60s now and he was a boy then. ;-)The Plaza is a wonderful spot for families wanting a picnic spot or time with the kids in a fun active and safe place. There's a train and carousel for the kids, picnic tables and play areas. The shops surrounding the area are great to get out of the sun and purchase those needed items or just to stop off for yummy ice cream.
