Enjoyed the awesome beauty of this park. Very serene and clean. A relaxing, wonderful camping experience.

This is a small campground and has a pretty big event site. It is beautiful even if the weather isn't perfect. Tall redwoods with a little creek running through it.

In the redwoods with clean restrooms and picnic areas, used by locals for family reunions and local company picnics, etc. There are places and trails to check out, and you will be surprized this place hasn't made it on the map! We just went to a 50th wedding anniversary there with a band and huge catered event, it is always great. We locals love it.

Traveling in a small RV I've stayed her two times. It's less expensive and quieter that most parks. There are bathrooms and water but no power or showers. They raised the nightly fee to $15 but it's still a bargain.

If you are eager to visit Redwood National Park, but didn't make a reservation in one of the California state campgrounds 6 months in advance - take heart, you can very likely get a campsite only a few miles away from the famous Jebediah Smith campground with more privacy and easy driving access to all of the redwoods attractions. Our family camped our way along Highway 101 in late June. To maintain flexibility in our itinerary we took the risk of going without reservations. It worked great at most parks as even those that had shown as "full" on the websites had cancellations or a set of first-come-first-served sites. Then we pulled up to Jebediah Smith campground. Not only were they full, but the rangers at the gate wouldn't allow us to even enter the grounds to view the sites and make notes for future reservations. Rejected, we went to plan B which was Florence Keller just a few miles away. We were amazed to find 45 of the 50 spots open at a cost of $15/night. We were even more amazed to find the park had 1 full hookup spot at $20/night and it was not in use. What's good?- Private sites in an attractive, heavily wooded environment- Only minutes from Crescent City and the redwood sites in Jebediah Smith- 35 minute drive from Prairie Creek visitor center- $15/night- Clean bathrooms- An amazing play set area and sports fields- Friendly campground hostWhat could go either way depending on your camping needs?- No reservations allowed- Limited capacity for RV's. We pull a pop-up trailer that is just under 20ft long. There were approximately 10 sites which could handle our trailer if we got creative about parking our truck at an angle. There is no way any motorhome over 35 feet is going to find a spot here. What are the shortcomings?- No showers AND we couldn't find any public showers in the area- Very dated bathrooms that can only handle two people at once
