This park runs along the coast and above the cliffs just North of the pier area. It has paved walks, flower plantings. some shade areas, a children's play area and GREAT VIEWS of the Santa Barbara channel. During one walk, we viewed whales just offshore. Park is adjacent to a residential area and clearly popular with locals. There is a parking lot and on-street parking. We never had a problem finding a spot in the lot. If you like this walk, you've got to check out the Douglas Family Preserve Park just a short distance North (see that review).

Stumbled on this park on the coastline drive. Views of sailboats, sunbathers, surfers and kiteboarders. Enjoy Stearn's Wharf then head a bit north and relax and enjoy the view...

A great place for couples, singles or families. Picnic areas with ample parking and BBQ sites. If you walk from the top down to the pier and back it is about 3 1/2 miles with a good hill mixed in. Great ocean views .

My son had a surfing lesson here that was arranged by the Biltmore Hotel concierge. It was excellent.

There is a lot of parking at various places along this very long beach/park. Some of it is 90 minute free parking and some of it is $2/hour. There are picnic tables in some areas as well as commercial venues for food and drink. And grills set up near the tables. We were there on a very nice day so sat at a table and had wine, cheese, and a baguette. We were at Leadbetter's Beach which we were told was a county park which allowed alcohol. City parks do not.I'd recommend a quick stop at the Tourist Information booth for a map of the beach and parking and advice from very friendly and knowledgeable folks manning the office there.

Visited with guests as tide was coming in, surfers were trying to catch waves, dolphins jumping about, rain had washed everything clean, sun was out. What a peaceful spot to begin our tour of SB

We live in Oxnard but love to drive up to Santa Barbara for a treat. This late afternoon we stopped at Shoreline Park with the intention to look for whales. The park was full of families grilling and playing. A wonderful, beautiful day in the park. We had read that you could possibly see whales from the shore in that area so we started our leisurely walk along the shoreline. We certainly WERE NOT disappointed. We first saw the water spouts. 3 or 4 together. My husband got out the binoculars and actually saw the whales coming out of the water. I couldn't wait to grab the binoculars and take my turn. I'm sorry - I was squealing like a little girl! So exciting! Now we are ALWAYS on the lookout for those water spouts! What a fun day!

Views are amazing at sunset. Walk down to the beach and take some photos as the sun is going down. Beautiful and calm. Lots of dogs running around.

Away from the tourist area. Wonderful place to stroll or sit and read or look at the beautiful scenery. Parking is easy. Bathrooms are available. Nice place to spend a morning.

Just off of Shoreline Drive, this park provides a wonderful view of the coastline. It is worth a stop and a chance to grab some photos.

Bike path for walking or small vehicles is a great way to take a stroll, see the ocean, and relax! Restaurants on the piers are fine, typical touristy stuff, and there isn't much "to do" unless you are booking a boat or fishing tour. There is the Little Toot boat taxi for a silly $5/pp ride if you're not up for the easy 10 min walk back around the harbor.

This park is a great place to take a picnic any time of day. It is on a cliff and overlooks the water. Great place to walk or bicycle as well.On this visit we picked up a pizza in town and had a great romantic dinner for two.

Shoreline Park offers a neighborhood feel away from the crowded beaches near the wharf. It provides staircase access to the beach and a perfect location to sit and talk, picnic, or just stroll.
