This was the first winery we visited. Our host Steve was great and the wine was over the top. The property was amazing and great for pictures. After the end of our day tasting wine in Napa Valley, we returned to buy a few bottles of wine.
I'm a new wine club member & took advantage of free tasting over the weekend. Alberto was our guide and he provided some great information on the winery as well as treating us to some terrific cabs. Enjoyed it & look forward to my next club delivery.
I tend to like small, unique, boutique-like experiences across the board. But, Hall is an exception to that rule.Yes, it's big. Yes, it's crowded. And, yes, it's expensive... $30 for a wine tasting.But..The architecture is fantastic. The art is fantastic. And, the wine is fantastic. Try the "Kathryn Hall Cabernet." A new favorite.Love it.
This winery is great. It's very modern and has beautiful art throughout the building. There are floor to ceiling windows that look out into the vineyards. The tasting room is situated upstairs looking out onto the wineries. We paid for a tour and a tasting but the traffic was quite bad so we skipped the tour. The gentleman helping us, Rick, told us he would give us extra tastings to make up for it. Not only did he give us extra tastings but he gave us ones that were not on the tasting menu and some of the most expensive wines they have. Every wine we tasted was better than the one before. The service was excellent at the winery and the atmosphere was perfect. My friends and I sat outside on their patio area and in chairs near the vineyard and drank some of the wine we bought. The landscape was stunning. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Hall makes great cabs especially the Katherine Cab (named after the owners wife ). The wine is great you simply can not complain ….if you want a GOOD Napa Cab you will find it here. So …why only 4 and not 5 is because it can be pretentious and expensive and that is the only why. I guess when you have such great Cabs in Napa you can afford to be that way.
First visit to the new building :) been open for 14 months I think. Interesting Huge Colorful quilted arts on the wall from the main entrance mmmmm. Elegant wine tasting room, glass wall/window stunning panoramic view. If you're a pinot noir and Cabarnet Sauvignon lover like me must visit this winery. We have Paul, assisting us for our tasting. He is super awesome, very knowledgeable this gentleman knows his wine:). Paul is very polite, friendly and love what he do... he is a great assets to Hall winery. I absolutely 100% recommend to visit and drink I mean tastes Hall wine. Definitely coming back again with friends and family.
We got there just in time to see the sun setting.... and enjoyed a wonderful flight of wines and went home with our favorite!! Great atmosphere and knowledgeable staff.
Man, this place is just cool. If you're tired of all the same style of tasting rooms around Napa looking rustic and wood table top bars then this is the place to visit. Completely modern and contemporary. Glass everywhere, from the walls to the bar to the hanging glass panels above the bar. The best view when tasting, rain or shine. The pourers are nice as well. Very knowledgable about the wines. Definitely my favorite winery. Not just because of their tasting room, but because they have some of the best wines I've tasted in Napa.
Red, red, red! The design of the building is red, the fab rest rooms are red. But most important The RED wine is terrific! We were served at the bar by Rick. He really knew his wines and the Hall/Walt Family history. They go back a long way in being growers.....this is not a vanity project. The pricing for Napa Valley cabs is in the ball park. $50-$100 per bottle for high quality wine. They make several cabs as well as Syrah's. I don't recall how much the tastings run, but they did have several options. We purchased the "Ellie's" 2011 Cabernet, a full body fruit forward cab that will stand the test of time. Our friends bot a case and a half. They have $1 shipping on 6 bottles or more. So if you're visiting Napa this is a real deal if you need wine shipped. You can miss the winery on Highway 29, it has a GIANT modern art bunny out front to mark the spot. How it's balanced is art in itself. Go for the wine but don't miss the building, it's a treat.
Of the wineries I visited so far this has the most spectacular views for the tasting. Nestled at the foot of the vines with an amazing view of the mountain range. Great bold wines too.
For years we have gone up and down highway 29 without stopping at the Hall tasting room.On our annual anniversary visit in 2014 we finally stopped. Extraordinary wines served by a knowledgeable and engaging host. Needless to say we joined yet another wine club!
We did a tour & tasting. The new building for tours in St. Helena is very nice; especially if you are an art enthusiast. Tour was informative & each of the 4 wines poured was better than the previous.6
We did an off-site here on November 3 for an annual event our company organizes for senior lawyers from across the US. At first I was getting resistance on choosing this venue because they don't have a "wine cave"; however, was on site, my boss and all participants were blown away by the winery. It is absolutely fantastic! The design, the different art displays, the numerous options available to hold your event, the staff and their wine were all part of a great experience. Myriah Collins Mutrux, Private Experience Manager, and her coordinator Hannah Turner are so easy and wonderful to work with. For catering, if you can afford it, I strongly recommend Feast. They were recommended by the winery and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Erin Ito, Event Director, and Yesenia Beckman, Event Captain, are excellent at what they do. Furthermore, all of the chefs that work for Feast are former Executive Chefs of various hotel/restaurants, hence why the food and presentation was so great. For transportation, I used Beau Wine Tours & Limousine Services. Very professional and the executive shuttles are in top shape
Great wine and great staff with beautiful view! Would def revisit! The customer service is awesome and the wine is fabulous!
We had a great time visiting Hall. The new facility is spectacular but the old barn is equally stunning. Thanks for the barrel sample and all the other great wines. By the way, we saw the white bird!
