This is an amazing park in the heart of Monterrey, with so many slides etc. in place. Kids were having a lot of fun. Bring your lunch and enjoy in lake surroundings
We vacationed in Monterey recently, and took our 2 year old grandson here....... he had a blast! The facility is well maintained, and the variety of playground equipment kept him running around for a couple of hours!
Wow! Best park. There is a train for kids to play on. A climbing wall. Tunnels. Bridge. Roller slide. Hedge maze. Kids will never want to leave. The best part it's a public park & free. There a concession stand open sometimes & clean restroom. Parking can be tricky.
This park is a family favorite. We were disappointed to see that the the train was no longer for climbing as this was my son's favorite. The rest of the park was fun and great way to burn some energy after a long drive.
If you are staying in Monterey you have to take your kids here. Grab some sandwiches, make a picnic and let the kids go crazy. Suitable for ages 1-13 yrs. The play area is great for small kids and they have paddleboats which the older kids would enjoy
Nice public park for the kids - variety of play activities, nice that it is public and free. Our 5 year old grandson had a blast going from one climbing obstacle to the next, and played for well over 30 mins on his own... Monterey should be proud and lucky to have such a nice park free to the public...
What a fun Park! My 4 year old son loved it. There is lots to do...the park is so big! Plenty of street parking if the lot is full. Bathrooms too.
Kids playgrounds are mostly all the same - but this one was designed by Hank Ketcham, the creator of the Dennis the Menace comic strip (who lived in the area for many years before he passed away) to be different. There are hills to climb, a wobbling bridge, kid-sized tunnels - and on and on. Plenty of benches for parents and grand parents to sit and watch their little ones. Always lots of people to visit with. And, being Monterey, there are only 4 or 5 days out of the year when the weather gets hotter than 80 degrees. Really!
Clean, organized, good atmosphere. I recommend if you have kids up to 9 or they'll be bored quickly.
Our little one had a great time climbing, running, and playing at the park. However, there were a lot of families there and several parents seemed to not care whatsoever what their children were doing (cutting in lines, blocking slides, playing at the bottom of slides). This made things a little frustrating, but she had a great time, and it was the perfect way to get some extra energy out before our long drive home.
This was always a highlight when my kids were young. It is now a perfect place to walk the dog, along the beautiful lake, and plenty of green grass. It is a little oasis near the beach and the Wharf.
Totally awesome for the kids:) Just such a fun time for the kids and close to beach. Slides - bridges, sand, bright colors, maze total adventure.
My boys, now 8 y.o. have been visiting here since toddlers. It's a beautiful park and they always have fun here. Parking, no TP, lousy drinking fountain, and can no longer play on the train are probably the only snags.
Fantastic, imaginative park with bridges and slides galore. Similarly impressive were the amount of people there. Compare the crowds to Disney, Lego land, your worst nightmare. Perhaps if it weren't a holiday week we would have had more space. The entire town was flooded with foot and car traffic. Bring your helicopters and fly low. On that note, hovering parents might find their nerves all aflutter when they can't find their children in this largish park with hoards of other children and parents to sift through. Be brave or look for a more serene space.
Best park ever. Kids will love to play all day. Take a lunch and enjoy. Park us surrounded by water. Fun
