well set up as a reminder of how things were done in the old days; great for school parties to get a bit of history outside the classroom

What a pleasure to see the introductory video, and to be guided through all the buildings and get all our questions answered, right there on the spot.

I loved the history of Simi Valley, I have lived here for 12 years and didn't know this park was here. I really enjoyed the tour; the family home residence and the Church. It is worth the walking around.

If you are into old historical stuff then this is the place for you. I have lived in Simi Valley for 44 years and was there for a wedding reception. I did have a chance to look around but I was not impressed. But, that's me. Like I said, if one is into the history of Simi Valley or just old things then this would be a great place to visit as they have some original buildings that were in Simi before it became the City of Simi Valley in 1971. I did purchase a soft cover book regarding the history of Simi Valley. It presents a nice look on my coffee table. A visitor will not spend much time on the grounds.

When I was a kid we went to Corrigons ranch this so reminds me of it . In the fall is smells so great there the old trees and the ever present winds. Really sets the the excitement for the kids for Halloween and after you can pray for the solus that aspired to settle this valley.

If you're looking for a great way to kill an afternoon without killing your budget, the Strathearn Historical Park is what you're looking for. I was there at a funny time, so I wound up having a private tour of the park by a very knowledgeable tour guide, whose name I'm forgetting. She was an anthropologist by training (I think). The sheer volume of material in the park is incredible, and I loved that all the artifacts are there for you to pick up and hold, it gives you a much better feel for the history of the place (some pun intended.) I couldn't think of a better way to spend an afternoon, or my $3!

Sorry this review is so late in coming. I was taking a photography class, and someone told me to check this place out - I'm glad I did!! I went on a weekday morning and walked around by myself, snapping and snapping and snapping some great pictures! (Alas, I lost the folder with them after the class, but no problem... I'll go back this week and take more!) SMILES. When I do, I'll post here. No fee to enter, but $3 donation is requested - it's worth it whether you get a docent or not.

This is a very historic place from old Simi Valley. They moved a lot of old buildings here and made it an interesting place to visit. When we have out of town, state or country, visits we always go there and it gets a high mark!

The first church, a farmhouse and so much more as you tour the grounds of Simi Valley's first family. Many ideal picture spots. Come with a group or get a docent to tell you all about it ... you love it.

Do schedule your visit when the docents can take you on tour. They are knowledgeable about the buildings and exhibits. Check out their web site for information on events held on weekends.

This is a well preserved look into Simi Valley's past. Make sure you come during the limited hours with docent tours - only a $3 donation per person. The attendant at the museum was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The museum itself is relatively small but interesting. A good way to spend a couple of hours.

We went on a Sunday afternoon and it's a little town set up with original buildings & artifacts from the early days of Simi Valley. You can take a guided tour for a nominal fee of $3.00 per person where a docent will take you inside of each of the buildings and give you a little background history of each. Or you can walk around the grounds on your own but will be unable to gain access to the inside of each building as they are locked, so I recommend the guided tour. There is an orientation film to watch beforehand in the visitor center that gives you the history. Our docent took her time and answered all questions, so our tour took about 1 1/2 hours total. Plenty of free parking and clean restrooms on the premises. Worth a visit and spending a leisurely Sunday afternoon strolling thru the museum.
