History of the Bakersfield sound. It is also a restaurant and bar. Easily accessible from the freeway.
Fun place to go if you like country music. Food is very good and I like all the decor of western items. Another place in Bakersfield that is always busy. But afun place to go.
We visited the Crystal Palace as a family group. We were put up in the rafters, which was fine for viewing the band and patrons dancing, but not good for service. We had eleven people and one baby so our order was pretty large. It took FOREVER! The Drinks and appetizers took FOREVER! The food was cold. The fish was cold and reheating it turned it into shoe leather. Forget the food. The band was very good and watching the patrons was even better. One senior citizen, I'm told, is there every weekend. He sure knew how to shake his booty! You have to go. The Crystal Palace is an institution in Bakersfield. Just stick to burgers and fries!
Buck Owens Crystal Palace is a must see while visiting Bakersfield. It is full of very interesting Buck memorabilia - especially Buck's Pontiac convertible displayed over the bar! Go for a drink - skip the food. WARNING: The food is just awful. - go for a drink and enjoy the music - skip the food. You have been warned twice!!!
Loved to watch buck Owens play on Fridays . He built a awesome museum to country music legends and the hee haw days of old. they serve great food and have great. Music on Friday and Saturday's.
I enjoy bringing my out of town guests here because the food, service and entertainment is always good. Learn line dances before you arrive and dance with people from all over the world. On my last visit, I sat next to a couple from San Francisco who were ready to move to Bakersfield for the Crystal Palace.
Buck Owens' Crystal Palace is the home of country music in Bakersfield. Headlining country acts play here as well as the house band on Friday nights. There is a wealth of memorabilia from Buck Owens' career on display throughout the hall. There is a lively crowd and dancing is also popular during concerts. Reasonable food is available during performances. There is also a bar over which is the actual Cadillac that Buck won in a card game- very cool.Sunday brunch is also a popular event at the Palace.
The entire family enjoyed the experience . The fresh fruit, waffle bar, everything was great. The service and atmosphere was wonderful.
Always voted best brunch in Bakersfield due to the very extensive, very well prepared country oriented offerings.
Always enjoy the energy, entertainment and good food along with great ambiance. It will be worth a visit if you are in the area.
This is Buck Owens place. The museum is fun and interesting to see. The music was the real attraction. I saw the "House Band", and a few guest singers. It was very entertaining. The food was good for a bar. The dancing was also real entertaining-line dancing and western style. If you are in Bakersfield, you should at least go to the Palace for a few hours, have dinner or a snack and be entertained by the music and dancing.
There are a lot of things to see in the Crystal Palace, pictures galore, memorabilia, souvenirs, and the food is good, not too pricey and you get a lot of it!
A fun place to eat, and a great experience, to tour Buck Owens career . Food is large portions, and home style. A great part of the Bakersfield Experience.
I enjoyed the country music as well as learning to line dance. There is also a Buck Owens museum from Guitars to food worn b country greats.
My husband ordered Catfish. It was very greasy. I ordered Halibut and it was so dry I could not even eat it. $140 later we were very disappointed. The band was really good. Made up for the really bad food.
