Well my heading says it all. There is a fantastic play structure area for kids 2-12. My two year old made me go there 3 times she liked it so much. It's also a nice park for a picnic and walk. By no mean a major attraction.

The name and photos in a tourism brochure made it sound interesting. Ended up being dirty and not nearly worth the trouble. Skip this... and head down to the Red River and walk some of the trails in the summer.

The Japanese Gardens in Sertoma Park are a nice, quiet spot. The playground looks pretty fun and there always seem to be kids there. The Japanese part of the park is actually quite small, but pretty. The bridges over the forks of the stream are nice and it's a great place for a walk, bike ride or to read a book.

The star attraction for anyone with children is a wonderful playground with a fully-accessible play structure. It's a great place to take kids to let them climb, run and explore. The Japanese Garden itself is charming and well worth a look. It isn't huge, but it's still a nice spot to wander through. Families will enjoy the trails and bridges, but this is really a place for quiet contemplation. It would be a great place to linger for a while with a book, or just with your own thoughts.

Large, beautiful, tranquil park. Lots of room to walk, sit, read. Framed by two bridges where you can watch for wildlife. Great for photography with the Japanese sculptures. A wonderful playground for children. Connected to a walking/bike path.

Such a pretty spot that looked run down and unattended. Made me sad to see it. Was there a few years ago and looked much better.

The gardens are peaceful and there are benches to sit and take in the view. Mosquitoes find it inviting as well. Not one of the best Japanese gardens we have visited, but for Grand Forks it is OK. Needs a good group of volunteers. Having said that, we did enjoy our stroll and would go back if in the area. easy to find and walk. Bring you spray though. I can imagine a family having a picnic there at the tables while the kids run. Only wild life was a rabbit.

We enjoy strolling through this garden in the evening hours working off our dinner. We have been through here many times, sometimes it needs work and other times not so much. Lots of mosquitos so spray yourselves before venturing into the shady areas. Lots of picnic tables and a few benches for a rest.

Not being taken care of very well. Could be a beautiful place. Did take grands there and they enjoyed running around. Would love to see some gardening done and things arranged better.

Fun to walk around this park and look for wildlife. We have found groundhogs, fish, turtles and lots of birds here. We have also taken some beautiful family photos here in front of the beautiful statues in the gardens

It is a small area with a little bridge that goes over the water. There are I think 3 total pagodas. It is calming, but wish it was a little bigger.

You can spend an hour at the Japanese Gardens. Its very very hard to find the place as there are practically no signs except on 32nd Avenue and its a long way from there. You can sit and relax for a while. There are lots of pebbles near the pond and the first thing kids like to do is to throw them into the pond. But a huge sign says "do not thrown rocks into the pond". It was hard for me to explain that to my son who has special needs. Nice place overall

So I wish I would have paid a little closer attention to the reviews. I thought they said this was a good place. I wouldn't even give it an average because it doesn't deserve that. First of all the scenery is not that great a pond with some sculpures in it. Both my husband and I noticed that it smelled bad. After walking around the walking path we noticed a HUGE pile of garbage sitting where the pond needs to flow to the creek. It was absolutely gross. I decided to take a picture of which I will be eventually putting on here of the garbage and a local woman came by and was glad I wad taking a picture of it and called it a sewer. The only decent part was the play ground of which I don't think is the gardens. Waste of time.

This park has a nice playground that any child would love. There is a pond and a few small paths for walking. There are some shelters with tables for picnicking and lots of open space if you want to play sports, etc. The park is also used for weddings and provides a beautiful setting.
