I was surprised how mediocre the selections were. Within walking distance there are better choices. And these choices serve food as well as drink. Nearby is Isla Bonita, not as various a selection but certainly more reasonable and drinkable. Farther along is the Harbour House Pub. If you can drive, there is the Bainbridge Island Brewing Company.Sorry, but if beer is all you serve, than it better be fantastic. In addition the seating is very awkward. Very few people sitting at the long tables, everyone else clustered at the smaller tables. Junk piled in one of the booths. A single guy in the other. Just not a good ambience. We are locals on Bainbridge. We will not be back.
I took the ferry as Seahawk tickets were going for over $200 standing room only. I toured the town then went to the Ale House to watch the game. The guys behind the bar are the owners. Its like they took the script from bar rescue. (Its not a bar rescue) their bar is nice, modern and new with USB outlets at the tables. They have a local bakery providing the food with their menu posted. They have the best tap menu of any bar, I have tried in the Seattle area.
We stopped here after a long bike ride around Bainbridge. It happened to be when the Seahawks were playing, so this tiny space was filled with football fans, which created a great atmosphere. The ales and beers on tap are excellent. Lots of choice and really friendly servers. We just grabbed a beer each and sat with the rest of the people to watch the football. Definitely a cute, small, friendly place to stop and chill.
Nice little place to get some good beer. They had about 14 different kinds on tap when I was there. Don't expect to have food though since they don't have any (but you can bring your own). Nice "rustic" atmosphere to relax and enjoy.
Located just off the ferry on Winslow Way, next to the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Alehouse on Winslow is a fun place to meet friends or venture into coming off the ferry. Went there just before their formal opening. The Alehouse is inviting and you've got many options on tap. Don't know what you want? Describe to the beer master and he/she will make a suggestions. Dogs are welcome (many were hanging out inside) and you can also bring food in. Patio wasn't open when I was there with a friend, but it looks like an inviting place to be, too.
