I would love to give this place a good review since the new owners have done a great job designing a comfortable wine tasting venue. Unfortunately, our experience with the wine tasting selections and the service has been dismal in three visits. Hoping to improve on previous experiences we recently we paid $10 per person for an upgraded tasting that turned out to be a collection of less than mediocre wines--very disappointing. When I complained about a particularly bad wine that did not come even close to the description on the wine sheet, the server said she had a "magic trick" and left only to reappear with an aerator which she ceremoniously poured the wine through and then asked me to taste it again (really?). Not surprisingly, aerating a poor wine does not make it any better. As wine enthusiasts, the best magic trick for us would have been to offer wines worthy of the $10 tasting cost. Although our server talked (way too much) about her extensive experience with wines, she seemed to know very little. If you decide to give Sip City a try and if you know what you like, skip the wine tasting and order a glass of wine.
