The area around the park has been redone to make access for the salmon run better. There is a viewing platform and trail down to the stream so you can see the salmon coming up and spawning in the fall. November is an excellent time for this. Follow the trail down to the nearby harbor access park and you may see seals and otters chasing and feeding on the salmon. I had a run of fish chased by a seal flash right by me with a splash as I stood at the water's edge one day. Continue on around the harbor towards Anthony's restaurant for a viewing platform and a stairclimb viewpoint that give the best picture postcard views of the harbor that frame Mount Ranier at the harbor's end on less cloudy days. Restrooms are available at Crescent Creek park.
