I live just down the hill from here so it was a place I took my daughter to on rainy days when she was younger. Of course it's a great educational experience for everyone. I would go so far as to say it would benefit everyone to know more about where their water comes from and how it is managed. The highlight for young children is the ping pong balls that mimic water and all the air tubes that they can put them in and watch them travel through the different "environments" that the water travels through. What kid can resist balls and tubes that shoot the balls all around to be chased down and reinserted over and over again? Great educational experience in one of the prettiest locations ever with lots of fun for the littler ones is why I gave it a 5 star rating.

What a wonderful experience! The Education Center is truly a beautiful and educational venue. Loved the water drum "concert" before we enter. We took the "Signature tap water tour" with guide Julie. Did you know that the Cedar River Municipal Watershed is more than 90,000 acres? First she explained the tour at the model of the watershed, and then took us in a van to the various spots to explain the history and current situation where Seattle's drinking water comes from. We went to the Cedar Falls Townsite, then the Masonry Dam and walked on that dam, then up to the "Vista", with views down to the dam and to Chester Morse Lake, the mountains, and all the way to Yakima Pass. We could not go to the Cedar Falls as there is restoration in progress.

I went from Seattle with a group of people to see the Cedar River Watershed including the Falls. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the facility. She told us the history of the watershed, and that the City of Seattle Public Utility District thought about having clean water many years ago, and they own the facility 100 percent to monitor the water. Also, I was informed that the water is one of the best in the world. We toured the Cedar River Falls at the end of the tour which was breathtaking, and a must see.
