My friends and I went to the jetty to hang out on the rocks. It's a great place to visit! We sat on a particularly flat rock and played some music and drank and hung out. Beautiful place and watching the waves crash against the rocks was stunning.
Okay for younger people and would be nicer if the weather was better. View is good; weather wasn't good while we were there--probably would have enjoyed it if the sun was out.
Great parking, clean and well-maintained. Agates are located just a ways down once you walk northward on beach.
One of the places we always go to when we go to Ocean Shores. The kids love to climb on the rocks and a great place to collect small round rocks, we use them for crafts. The beach here is sandy and a nice place to sit and relax and play in the sand!
There are no restaurants, or attractions apart from the Pacific Ocean, but really, what else do you need? This is a great place to bring food from town and have a picnic. This is also the place to stroll and explore the beach or just pull up a comfortable rock and check in with yourself and the ocean. The way to roll here is to climb the paths to the top of the dunes as you walk onto the beach approach- and take in the view of the Jetty, the beach, Westport, and the open Ocean. The top of the dunes are also one of the best places to whale watch. Use awareness when climbing on the Jetty rocks, and do not let kids climb alone. There are no lifeguards, and rip tides and rogue waves can be dangerous. With all that being said- this will be the highpoint of your trip- don't miss it!
Don't be fooled by this location... It is beautiful, unique, and a great place to visit, but there is nothing nearby for public access. There is one Port-O-Potty near the parking area and that is about it!Be extremely careful if you climb on or explore the rocks of the jetty - Especially if it is stormy or windy. Mind the gaps in the rocks or you may be injured or killed. The waves do reach as high or higher than the rocks at times too so do not be swept away!NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN - unless you remain on the beach north of the rocks.
A little bit of everything there. you can hike and if you like just sit and watch the waves. lots of parking and easy access.
As a new resident of Ocean Shores, I am enjoying discovering all the nooks and crannies of the town. The jetty has quickly become my favorite spot as each trip is a new experience based on weather and tides. Be cautious though, of high tides or stormy weather which can make that area dangerous.
This is a cool beach and the best beach at Ocean Shores. There are a lot of great recreation options here: fishing, beach combing, bird watching ( pelicans, owls at times in the winter), beach fires, picnic and wake boarding to name a few. This beach is only a few miles from down town Ocean Shores.
Amazing access to the power of the ocean. Gorgeous sunsets. Don't miss it! Easy parking and plenty of spots to explore.
The jetty provides the best place for shore fishing in Ocean Shores. Also the adjacent beach is a great place to fly kites
The North Jetty was beautiful! On our drive to the Jetty we passed pairs of deer, in 5 different locations, along the way, grazing either in the median or along the edge of the road. Just added to the beautiful charm of the place. Walking out to the Jetty & along the beach was fun & beautiful.
The jetty is a great place to sit and watch the ocean swells meet the land. There's typical Ocean Shores flat beach, running to the north, for walking; but sitting on the jetty itself or on beach logs is enjoyable too. We watched a man catching some fish off the harbor side of the jetty, so I plan on bringing my gear the next time we visit. I can see why parking would be an issue in the summertime (there's not a lot of space), but in winter, there was not issue at all. It was nice to have clean porta-potties available too.
Great place to see the surf crashing, especially during a storm. We stopped here and enjoyed the views. We love the Washington coast and this was a great place to watch it. Bundle up on windy days though. It was cold when we were there!
The waves crashing over the rocks give you quite the feel for the power of the ocean. Its horrible parking situation is worth dealing with though...beautiful view of the ships heading in to westport area as well.
