Echo Massage Spa in Shoreline (north neighborhood of Seattle) is a misleading name to me, because this massage studio offers expert therapeutic massages by highly trained LMTs. This is their website which emphasizes the spa aspects, which I'm sure they do - but their business strength is their knowledge of anatomy and muscles. http://www.echomassage.com/The LMT I had, Jenny, was trained as a Chinese medicine practitioner before moving from China to Seattle, and she has massage training in Chinese Massage (working accupressure points), Deep Tissue, and Swedish massage. She can vary pressure from soft to hard.I am a therapeutic style licensed massage therapist who has had many kinds of massages, and this was the BEST massage I have had in recent memory! Jenny is someone who really knows the anatomy and muscles, and knows how to work hypertonic muscles to loosen. I read several other reviews before I booked an appointment and they all referred to arriving with a specific kind of pain in back, neck or shoulder and finding effective relief. In my case, I had a lot of stress and leg pains, and after her massage I felt like a weight was lifted and my legs were like boing boing springs. One person said "this is the real deal", and I think that is a great way to describe this massage studio. This ain't no "fluff and buff", this is expert therapeutic massage therapy.Note that their studio is in a modest and underwhelming low, small building, and their treatment rooms are also modestly sized. Their emphasis is on their friendliness, knowledge and treatment. I found it a very comfortable environment. In my opinion, this place is a real gem, a real find!
