It’s hard to bypass a casino buffet, especially when you’re in Las Vegas, because you know it’s designed to attract you into the casino where you’ll spend a small fortune, even if the meal is cheap. But we’ve found that the buffet Snoqualmie is a temptation that doesn’t come close to an even payout. It’s fairly expensive and the food has more of a factory made flavor than would be expected. Yes, you can eat all you want, but after the first couple of dishes you realize you don’t want much more. It’s too bad. This is a beautiful casino and has such high promises.
We went there for dinner while staying at the Salish Lodge. When we walked in we couldn't find a place to get away from the smell of cigarettes. I don't like to taste cigarettes while I eat so we left without eating.
I gave myself time to consider this before writing since I was trying to be fair and not just do a review based on my frustration at the absolute horrific payouts on their slot machines. So I've waited a good 7 days and now I will comment on our experience. We went to SnoCo to play in their slot tourney and have a date night, our first time. We are avid gamers, played at casinos all across the US except for the east coast, so we have a pretty good idea what is considered "good: and what is considered "miserable" or "poor" in the gambling world. I would consider this place in the top 5 of the worst gambling in the country. I mean that without any misgivings, we won absolutely 0 over 2 days of play other than what they gave us for free which was $5 twice for being a new sign up. Our motives for trying SnoCo was hearing how beautiful it was, which indeed the place is pretty classy for WA state standards, and being a tribal casino it wasn't smoky at all. And because of a slot tournament that had less that 150 players total and paying out something to the top 25, we figured our chances were fairly good we would at least place for something. Lastly, being newbies, its very common to win something in order to entice you to come back. We were wrong at every level! Not even close. In fact the tournament was rather stale, nothing in comparison to other tournaments we've played where folks are excited lots of hootin and hollerin, and enthusiastic employees there to rev the crowd. NOPE...although they were very nice, the enthusiasm had to come from players who frankly didn't act excited at all either. The elderly lady playing next to my husband wasn't even popping the balloons for bonus points and STILL placed higher than he or I did, so yeah....bummer...but I digress. We were bound and determine to make this 2 day journey a fun one so we made our way over to the buffet. I know I usually don't do reviews on food, but this time I will. The buffet was definitely worth the trip. We got there early, ate for almost 2 hrs off and on, worth every dime. Good job guys! { my only complaint was the windows are too tall and couldn't enjoy the fantastic views} They gave us two free buffet coupons which made it even better, so make sure and sign up for a players card. So if your hoping to win any money here, please save your cash and play elsewhere. We played $200 at least and won $0 and that's being generous. The video poker was an abomination, they use a bingo card to make sure you won't win. I'm sorry if that's harsh, but how can you screw up a video poker game and sleep at night? { double double even} The non smoking is non existent. and the only reason I played over there was because the rude smokers that blow it in your face forced me to. It was packed with those for sure, and the others were gambling addicts slamming the buttons as if to change the outcome somehow to a winning combination. Sad in some ways, but not uncommon. There are also a lot of "hawkers" to those who are unfamiliar its a person who stands behind and watches what your playing and how much your betting. Typically they jump on your machine as soon as you get up, or follow you around if your a "high" limit gamer, so beware. Lots of them in here. If you do win, make sure your escorted to your car. TO THOSE WHO GAMBLE IN WA STATE: this is for you:The slot machines in WA are not random number generators like Nevada and other states. Please educate yourselves on the gaming regulations in this state and save your sanity. You can go read on WA gambling commission website and read for yourself. Until we push for gaming changes in this state, it is what it is. We are told "don't expect to win" and as long as we tolerate it, it will continue. There are better places to play in the state, that are "more fair" with their payouts. Sorry SnoCo The 3 stars you got from me was generous because of your new player comps and buffet. And some of your staff is pretty awesome. That's it
The casino has a pretty good point system. on Friday and Sunday if you gamble about an hour you will have enough points to buy dinner or lunch
i come here with family every time I am in Seattle. Fun night out. They have good acts so check their site plus a good sized gaming area with tables and plenty of slots. The cigar bar is well stocked and carries a lot of high end liquor. They offer a sampler of just about every type of libation. For eats there is a buffet, sandwich shop and a very nice but pricy restaurant. The players club card is a must for frequent visitations. Be sure to bring ID. IF YOU ARE YOUNGER LOOKING YOU WILL BE CARDED.
Will you win a bajillion dollars? Probably not. But you can have fun donating to the tribe. You can smoke in there but there are non smoking areas. There's an enclosed nonsmoking card room. The ventilation is better than at other places. Food is good. The Asian restaurants strong point is sushi. I can not vouch for anything else. The view is very nice. Parking is good. If you are handicapped, everything is accessible. Bathrooms are nice. If you have a medical emergency, they are Johnny on the spot. Snoqualmie ambiance lacks the seedy element other casinos have. You know the one where people are desperately pushing buttons trying to escape their meager, limited income, or the kind of place where you wonder if your car stereo, or even car, will still be there when you leave. Snoqualmie isn't even close to that. It's a nice place, but as casinos go- they want to win too. Right? It's entertainment, keep that in mind.
My husband and I have been going here for years! It used to be a nicer place. I loved the old sushi bar, and the free bottled water was nice. The spicy nuts at the bar were also yummy. It's still very nice. A bit too smoky! Food is okay. I wish they never changed it! I loved walking out on the old deck. It had an amazing mountain view. They got rid of that too. We don't go there much anymore...still a nice place!
The Snoqualmie Casino is a decent place. It's busy, easy parking, relatively easy to get to, lots of machines (although not that much variety), and quite a few tables. The non-smoking section is small so I don't last very long when I'm there - I either get bored or choked out by the smoke. The restaurants are either cafeteria style, buffet, or dressy. There's no just sit down and have a meal casual restaurant.
This Casino is right off the a Interstate and easy to get to. Lots of parking and not much of a walk. Best, this casino is pretty new and under one spacious roof designed to look like a lodge. It could be Lake Tahoe. Sure, there is some cigarette smoke, but that's no different than others. Sure, you can loose money, but that's no different, either. It's a casino. But, it's newer than most, so you feel like you are someplace swank, not in an outmoded, added-on-to gymnasium. Has some good entertainment booked.
Unlike Vegas, Indian casinos aren't required to have a minimum percentage that they are required to payout by law. However this place is rediculois, out of all casinos I've been to in state this by far is the worst I've ever seen! On a nicer note it's great to enjoy a drink with a cigarette in doors, outside the casino in the corner of the parking lot they have a small tobacco store selling cigarettes at reservation prices. A great place to stock up on cigarettes if you're a smoker. The food is pretty good too, and it's worth it to get the players card if you're interested in getting awesome discounts on food. Great looking building as well. Once again though if slots is what you're interested in, then go somewhere else, unless you enjoy loosing without even getting the courtesy of a few small wins in between to get you hooked.
I love entertainment and enjoy audience participation however, each time I have been to the Snoqualmie Casino there is the same unpleasantness and I will not be going back to this establishment. In order to get to the ballroom you have to go through the smoking section of the Casino, which means your clothes smell like smoke Yuk! There is no checking of purses of bags which translates into people bringing their own alcohol to the concert. This means a sloppy drunk crowd. I do partake of alcohol but limit myself. This past Sunday the crowed got out their thermos as soon as the lights went down, refused to listen to the request of the staff to stay away from the stage, all which is a distraction. I felt sorry for the staff as they had to deal with the crowd. I believe the Casino could do a lot to improve the experience.
This casino is close to the Metropolitan Seattle area and is easily reached via Interstate 90. As a non smoker, there is still a lot of smoke even in the non smoking area. The food was good but we no longer get any incentive to attend their buffet. The price for food is about the same as other casino's in the area. Since I am not really turned on by loosing money, it does not take me long to reach my loss limit and thus I watch my friends gamble. The cigar bar is fully stocked, but again, you are not getting on reservation prices for your smokes as they are all pricey. They do have a good stock of cigars and do have specials for tasting and smoking that are pretty nice, if you drink the expensive booze and smoke the expensive cigars.
This was my first visit to the casino and it was not for its gaming opportunities but to see a group they were highlighting. They offer complimentary valet parking (tips appreciated) and the large casino was easy to maneuver. The ballroom was small enough that most seats would be excellent and the seats comfortable with plenty of leg room. We were 6 rows back and to the left of the stage. I look forward to returning in the future.
Tourist Trap--I was treated rudely while trying to find the coffee shop , by employees. Could have been a fluke, but I was looking for a shortcut to hotel coffee shop (on foot) and was told I had to come all the way around the casino, (not helpfully At All), cross the casino floor (which stinks of smoke and is a Loooong Way Around) and go in from the front (I was parked out back). Rude.
Went to this casino and it has a very strong smell of like cleaning product mixed with fabric softener. It was very smokey and the service was not very good. I won't be back.
