This brewery does not serve food, but has a fantastic porter. Their others beers were good too, but we got stuck on the porter. A fun place.
Top notch beer selection served in a warehouse tasting room situated in an industrial area next to a boat yard. Great atmosphere and friendly environment. They need to expand and serve food.
The beer was sooo good. Waiting for it to come down to San Diego. The locals are the greatest. Nice big flights. Right by the marina. This place has the local chatter of sailing and traveling over a beer deserving of the ranks of stone. Didn't get a chance to hear the music so I need to go back soon.
The brewery offers a cozy tasting room and in the summertime concerts on Friday evenings in the beer garden. Today the brewery bottles 10 beers. Whatever your preference in beer may be - you'll find a delicious pint or two waiting for you at the Port Townsend Brewing Company.
After 5 years the brewery has improved its parking--beer still great. Local music. Even has wine for non beer drinkers.
We stopped in for a brew on our way back from Sol Duc Hot Springs and found a great IPA. Also found out the next evening they were having live music in the beer garden. Enjoyed a couple of brews and listened to some good Bluegrass music. You can bring food in and they have peanuts or mixed nuts for sale.
We have had a wonderful summer here in Port Townsend. And the music at the brewery has been fantastic. The Delta Rays, The Better Half, Bad Dog Blues. Wonderful. Dancing and drinking beer on a Friday night. A new act was in town this year, and is a show not to be missed. Lobo Del Mar put on some fabulous acts. Not to be missed. They will return September 24. Don't miss it!!!
Ever since Carter Camp became the head brewer, these beers have ROCKED. I'm not an expert, but have a friend who is and both of us thing the beer is the best. Various styles, so you're certain to find one that you'll enjoy. Fun ambience -- especially on a day when you can sit outside and listen to live music. Their sampler/taster tray is fun, too, if you're curious about all the different types of beers.
I was amused by some or the irritated comments of a couple of reviewers criticizing this place for its lack of pool and ping pong tables and, God forbid, no television. This place is a brewery, not a sports bar or restaurant!! A brewery is a place where you go to sample a brewer's beer at its freshest and enjoy the company of others who have a serious interest in the art of brewing. If you're lucky, you'll get a chance to talk to the guy who made the beer and, maybe get a quick tour of the brewery. If you don't have those interests, head on over to Siren's or the Uptown pub.If beer is your thing, however, this is, indeed, the place you'll want to be. Sit at the bar -you'll have to carry your own beer to a table, if you don't - and you will likely to find a couple of friendly locals who will help guide you through you adventures. The beer will taste better here than it will in nearly any other place you will drink it. That's because it's as fresh as it can possibly be. I won't get into all of the technicals, but fresh beer on tap is always the best. Most of the beers here seem "healthy" when you drink them. It's like eating fresh baked bread (good for you!) vs. week old store bought bread. If you want to prove this to yourself, have a pint of Scotch ale at the brewery and go across the street and buy a bottle of the same stuff at Safeway. The bottle beer will be good, but it won't hold a candle to the same beer you had at the brewery.Port Townsend Brewery is my favorite local brewery. If you like heavier, complex beers that are as fresh as they can be, you should like it, too. If Coor's Light is your thing, stay away from this place!
The Port Townsend Brewery makes great beers and provides a great space for enjoying them. Smack in the middle of the Boat Haven, you are surrounded by much of what makes Port Townsend such a magical place. The beer garden jumps with really good music during the summer. And the great beers are there year round. My faves: Chet's Golden, Boatyard Bitter and the Porter. And if you buy take away bottles at the brewery you save a good bit over what you'll pay in any store around town.
Went to see a concert and was accosted by an angry hostile woman who turned out to be the owner. She screamed and ranted and raved about something that I really did not ever understand. Beware - she owns the place and is there all the time! Watch out for her!
I always visit here for a drink when in Port Townsend. The beer is good and the place has a friendly atmosphere. I like to sit outside on a sunny day with a pint of Hop Diggidy IPA at 5.9%. They also do a slightly stronger Scotch Ale and a really strong barley wine at 10.5%. About 20 minutes from the ferry if you walk fast.
This is under "restaurant" which it is not, so can't say it is the best meal ever [unless you count made by my own fair hand]. We bring picnics and listen to music. One thing that totally impressed us, besides we have seen some great music here, is the interaction of the staff, particularly the blonde lady owner. Man, she is on the ball! Can't help you enough, talks, picks up after you, can visit with her friends and stay on top of the customers! Now that's a good multi-tasker! I can't count how many restaurants we have been to in town, that if you are not a local, they don't want to know you. Not here, she welcomes bands from out of town and traveling guests with equal warmth. We like to get a bowl of peanuts, which now has my husband totally hooked on them at home as well, and have met some of the nicest people here. Great beer, good wine prices. *Hint for newcomers; order the tray of beer tastings. My husband knew nothing about craft beer, coming from the South, and we were both able to pick ones we like, and it's fun to sample and see what works.
It was a rainy afternoon and what better place to find yourself then in a Brewing Company. Great selection, and delicious beer.
great place to try some local beer, good prices, but no food was a bummer - just some beer nuts - glad we stopped by here though
